    Re: this here FOTD doohickey (I mistakenly refer to it as BATBOTP), is there an archive of them anywhere? I remember reading one saying something along the lines of "In any job, there will be some who are much better than the others", but I forgot to write down the original author. They seem to by dynamic, so going into yesterday's news didn't help. Anybody recognise it?

    The general rule is: if the word is derived from another that has an 's', the derived word will have an 's', otherwise it's spelled with a 'z'.

    I call bullshit. If you disagree, I'll neutralise, pulverise, and even atomise you.

    If there is a rule, it's that British use -ise and Americans (living in areas colonised by them) use -ize. The latter is becoming more accepted right of the pond, though.

    Apart from the fact that the 4th bullet point contradicts "we don't want to block access in a life threatening situation", that all looks pretty sensible. So sensible, in fact that it's only a matter of time before someone tries to implement it to the letter - in a company that sells paper.

    Now, on clear days with little wind, a blimp would be much much more economical to operate than an airplane or a helicopter.
    It would be more economical even if there was a wind. You might be a bit restricted about what direction you could go, though.

    Though I think that it's worthy to note that even though big business IT department people may not be the largest part of the market share directly, we are in-directly.
    Market share schmarket schmare. Even if 80% of your revenue is in sector foo and 20% in bar, it's quite possible that the profits are the other way round.

    Basically you are just a "body shop" for contractors that does good work. Nothing wrong with that, I've worked for them myself.
    Other than it combines the uncertainty & working conditions of being a genuine freelance with the remuneration of a permanent employee, you mean?

    Why would that make the dollar's value collapse? Do you think that when an oil tanker unloads in the US a load of guys carry suitcases full of dollar bills aboard to pay for it, and they'd have to carry portmanteaux full of garishly coloured euro instead?
