Maybe this is a future Atlantis that the Wrath finally got from the Atlantis team and flew it back to Earth, but knowing the Wrath do not have mastery of very fast hyperspace travel... they most likely screwed up flying the city to Earth by flying into an unstable rogue wormhole, yeah a big one,... and went back in time like many many kazillion years and crashed on Earth... then with it having all that time to rust, rot and decay... would look like old stone ruins perhaps...
or maybe... nah... hehe
Regarding anceint jeans..... I am curious as I myself contain many different jeans,... in my closet... I have Blue Jeans, Stonewash Jeans, Colored and Faded. I am thinking the Faded Jeans are more Ancient like and thus would allow me to access the Stargate on Atlantis in the Pegasus Galaxy... but I better have a ZED pm around and a working SG code to get thru their force shield,... otherwise my atoms will be splatted throughout subspace for the rest of time.
Microsoft has a pretty good idea that their future is getting more and more dim. Time to cash in as much as they can before Vista comes out and is a total flop and security nightmare.
With all the vulnerabilities in Longhorn, yeah... secure OS my ass.... the theory that any new network advances in speed, will just be saturated at the rate of about 65-85% with Spam and Malicous attacks and hijacked PCs doing their thing. Oh yeah... porn downloads and torrenting.. do not forget that too.
So with all this new potential global network speed increases we may reap... those silly bastards out there will just gum it up with the useless 2 out of 3, spam, windows viruses and attacks... but porn, that is okay as we all have our needs.:-P
But you forget,... Although Apple said they will slow the pace of OS X upgrades, I bet Longhorn will be delayed and just a hair before it comes out,... Apple will deliver on yet another big cat upgrade, with Spotlight 2.0 and Dashboard 2.0. These will have all the supposed and more features than Longhorn, but of course...
Longhorn will be better and more robust as we have to all resist the inevitable.... Microsoft is our true innovator and everyone else just copies them.
ha! Not. I mean seriously. For years they copied other great innovations, but this time, they are arguing that they developed the search thing idea. Searching on Windows can be painful now. Google helps, but when I ask who really pioneered it in the mainstream users eyes... PC and Mac user aside.... hmmm
I say Apple (no shit Sherlock, hehe from previous Slashdotter)
Apple = Innovation Microsoft = Innovation Piration (pie-ray-shun)
Already downloaded it via iGetter for OS X. Got 535k speeds, max for Comcast 4mbit connection.
I also took that same file, dropped it into iDVD using a modern metal/machine theme and boom. Quick DVD to watch on my TV. I even played it on a 30 inch Syntax LCD hdtv and even starting out at 600x400 in size, it looks very sweet for a free web release fan film.
Now I will be careful to not charge for any copies, or materials as all my friends want a DVD of mine to call their own, hehehe
I had the same problem basically. I noticed some sites took longer to access via web browsing lately. Last night at around 8pm, I came home to find mail.app would not work, nor would getting my default start page of google on my web browser.
So I figured,.. access my cheapie, but reliable SMC router and release the DNS connection and then renew... this was easy enough... but no fix. Okay.. reboot the modem, router and switch via unplugging and turing on in the same order. No fix.. okay.. I saw that the Belkin router in my room was not rebooted, did that.. no fix.
Tried hooking up my iBook directly, no go... but my roommates PC laptop would sorta work on Google and msn, even with a search only, but not when clicking on other links.
After reading this article on DNS poisoning etc... I am kinda relieved I 99.99% will not have to buy a new router as the night before I was introduced to iGetter for faster web downloads and the wonder of Independent Fan film sites and all that can be downloaded. Why download at 20-35k for a 120meg file when you can at 250-450k instead?
Now I get to go home and be a download whore again tonight, woo hoo.
Oh yeah... instant side thought... if this only affects Windows DNS servers etc.. how long before more Net Wide hacks and hoaxs due to the unlimited number of flaws in Microsoft products happen to us. OH yeah.. I forgot... if everyone still uses the many flavors of Microsoft products, then those people who preach and advise the continued use of it will still be in a job,.. as in a world full of much more OS X boxen and Linux Boxen and many IT guys getting the whole dot.com bust effect all over again.
I love it when I get, or see a response that is very well educated and makes good sense,... well said Generic Guy.
Although I am against pop ups... they are what is needed to help make Tivo profitable. I mean that is how TV networks get much of their main revenue.
Lets hope when Tivo is Profitable, they will start expanding to better and newer hardware and new features, while keeping mainly with the Tivo way of life.
I wonder how it will compare to a dual core G5 chip from Apple.... whenever they get it out, which with all this dual core news from Intel, I would think it would be soon.
Culture and America should be carefully used together in the same sentence as with the current Presidential Administration, The Head Church Mongers and other over sensitive nutzo's, who are censoring everything and not allowing the diversity of America to prosper. Look at Europe, much more accepting and much better movies at many times.
I blame the PTA committee and George W, Monkey Man, Bush
lol
But do not forget to get her Poodle a Bently Turbo R so after a dip in the pool, the dog can be driven to the groomers/doggy day spa for a facial and pup-i-cure and then off to the social club to hang around with the other mutts, er uh... I mean presigious celebrity purebreds.
Then you gotta pay for the driver, gas and all that other stuff...
So they will need to triple the costs to 2.98 or so, make it 2.97 and call it a bargain. And offer 24.99 deals per 10 song or more album. Save almost 5 bucks and line our greedy phat pockets.

C'mon,.. wen are we gonna do a one day boycott of these greedy fat slob bastards, I have not bought a real CD in over 5 years.
Here is a smaller picture I found of his set doing a google search. It has the speakers underneath it, but looks very similar to current models, where the speakers are on the side. The PureVision looks like a big silver DVR unit that can lay flat or on its side on the floor. Check this Pioneer link for a comporable image of my friends system
I hope Syntax and that UK vendor where I got the URL for the Pioneer Image do not mind getting Slash-dotted, hehehe
All your bandwidth will me mine LOL
As for both my Syntax and the Pioneer Plasma... we both have good HD Comcast signals going to our boxes and thus is a much better example of what any set can do out of the store atmosphere with one cable signal going thru a 30 way splitter.
A friend of mine recently got a Pioneer Plasma at Best Buy recently. The size is like 42 or 43 inches... After all rebates, 500 from Pioneer, 100 from Comcast and also with buying the 4 year warranty for like 400 clams.. and taxes... I believe the set was costing about 3500-3550. Now he also got a 300 dollar best buy gift check and 200 in bonus bucks... for 500 in extra spending cash.
This set also comes with their PureDrive video processor which handles processing, filtering of all HD, SD and ED signals... for those rednecks out there... Standard TV or SD, ED or 480progressive signals and of course, HD or 720p. This processing unit on his tv.. a 43 inch now confirmed, fuckin rocked serious ass. Cartoon Network and Dexters Laboratory or Toonami never made Standard TV look so good and for us size queens,.. bigger is better... LOL.
But seriously.. even with the PixelWorks chip... the Pioneer is not only superior quality in terms of longevity, but that PureVision Box rocks and is an excellent video processor for the buck. Another comparison is my 30 inch Syntax Olevia HDTV lcd has the same PixelWorks chip and contrary to popular belief... it is freaking awesome for the buck... especially after you fine tune each input via the setup on the remote, each input has it's own settings...
So unless Dell can come up with a better trick,.. I say go Pioneer for Plasma... Syntax Olevia or other for a better deal and and better quality LCDs. By the way... I got mine for $999 at MicroCenter in Boston and with my Denon 1910, with DVI and 720p upscaling... Finding Nemo, Sky Captain and LOTR 3, Return of the King with very good night fight scenes on the Syntax... gave me a good ole woo... er uh... you know what I mean.
Nuff said.

Apple is getting affordable

Apple Updates iPod
·
· Score: 2, Insightful
Apple is finally getting a clue on making things more affordable... First the main intro of the Mac Mini, next the shuffle starting at $99 and now their flagship mp3 players have all gotten a serious discount. I mean a 30gig iPod photo is now much more attractive at $349 as for 30 gigs is plenty for music and photos and file storage for most. The 599 price for the top of the line model was a joke, but taking $150 off the price tag is a smart move.
I think Apple is staring to grow a better smarter brain and is taking a more aggressive approach at putting out cost conscious products and still keeping that legendary ease of use and stability of their computers. I bet over time the Mini will get nice speed boosts and get cheaper,.. slightly and their top of the line models will get a discount.. not huge, but good like 500. This will increase marketshare and will open up a potenially new market if it does for Mac Tech folks, like myself who are far and few between.
Fingers crossed baby for a world with less spyware and adbots and rootkit worries. Do not get me wrong... there are many apps written for Windows that are very cool, but has anyone noticed that tons of mainstream and other apps are coming out for OS X... time will tell.:)
This bodes well for everything that runs on batteries that can take advantage of this.. with some exceptions like Lead Acid batteries of cars and such. Just think.... my iBook and Powerbook laptops last much longer on a fresh battery than a comparably equipped Intel Mobile Pentium based laptop or even more energy conservative chips... point being... the 5 hours my iBook can get could be well past 10 with intensive use and energry saving stuff set to a minimum. This will bode well for all. Now my PCs can run over 2-3 hours max of use when not using a DVD. Whoo hoo.
Plus maybe now electric cars can get a full 300-500 miles of city driving or such, and hybrids will benefit as for smaller batteries with a similar range/capacity.
Now if improvements in technology like this could spur other improvements to make life easier and more affordable for all.
Maybe this is a future Atlantis that the Wrath finally got from the Atlantis team and flew it back to Earth, but knowing the Wrath do not have mastery of very fast hyperspace travel... they most likely screwed up flying the city to Earth by flying into an unstable rogue wormhole, yeah a big one,... and went back in time like many many kazillion years and crashed on Earth... then with it having all that time to rust, rot and decay... would look like old stone ruins perhaps... or maybe... nah... hehe

Will we call it the Matrix, or will it be Skynet?
