wow, someone with such arrogance is undeniably insecure with their abilities...regardless of how great they may be. no matter your abilities, be secure in who you are, and you won't have to be such an utter jackass to the rest of us.
bc its a turn key solution. apps are there and stuff just works. storage is in the cloud so no data loss concerns. no need for virus/malware software it's cheap/fast.
Ok, BUT all these systems are constantly being upgrade and redesigned. The Patriot Missile sys of today is nothing like what was used in 1981. Same for Aegis and the F/A 18, etc.
These designs are created and maintained by thousands of engineers across the United States and our allies. Especially true for something like the internationally developed F-35. Kind of hard to collaborate when you've got to use a sneaker net.
Give the fucking kid a scholarship to college...or a paid internship at Paypal. Is it not possible for anyone to do any serious work until they are 18 yrs? wtf
Electric drones will require very minimal maintenance. Electric motors and batteries don't really need servicing, they don't require all the same fluids, they can last longer, they are less complex, and they can refuel in remote locations for free.
A gas/diesel motor would need very frequent and regular servicing and a large maintenance team.
I read an interview from a MSFT exec yesterday where he said the XBOX One will carry XBOX through the next 10 to 20 yrs. Really? A 20 yr gaming cycle? 20 yrs ago I was playing my Super Nintendo. 10 yrs seems like a stretch for me but doable. I feel like the XBOX 360 is still in pretty strong shape 8 yrs in.
It's not that no one cares. It's that we keep being offered all these new shiny toys and services for free or for cheap, things that make us happy, and all we have to do to get them is share a bit of info. A bit of info never hurt anyone, right? right???
The problem is when one person does better than everyone else at the detriment to society as a whole. Corporations and individuals should be socially responsible with their immense wealth, or risk losing it.
Well, it's not quite so easy. You can have drones for orders of magnitude less cost than full on helicopters/planes...say $10-100K/drone instead of $10M/plane. Plus they can fly in inclement weather with no risk to humans. They can stay "on station" for days instead of hours. You can use 100s or 1,000s of them to search an area non stop until the mission is complete without having to have 1,000s of pilots ready to go at a moment's notice.
When drones start being used to evacuating people from disaster areas, they will be able to perform more risky landings without risk to pilots.

it's like a tablet with a keyboard,
Yeah, a Wii HD with no new features, just HD support for $200 with the games to back it up would have kicked butt.
A pint sized space telescope with a 1-2 yr mission could probably be built for $1M. Maybe Brandson will launch it for free.
pretty sure 14 is the legal age for working in the USA.

Paaalease. A technicality of insignificance. Except to those trying to be asses.

I have a 3D helicopter. Good points on the agile/stable part.
But simplicity is a big big factor. Especially if you've got 1,000 of these things swarming 24/7.
Dating? Yea, I think the kids still do that. Not sure though.
the quadrotors makes them more stable; more agile; and simpler (no swashplate needed, no servos for changing blade angles, no rudder control)
orders of magnitude faster than a local and a donkey.
No one will need disaster relief DURING a hurricane...or an earthquake for that matter.

Of course not. They're dashboard Widgets.
They're going to do this to the wrong guy and end up with a hit squad coming after them. At least I hope so.
I could see this working, but it would definitely be a crack shot.

The Defense Industry has sent men to the moon in the 60s, built the internet, GPS, and super computers.
These companies don't only work for the Defense Department and they don't only build bombers.
You don't know how to get there on your own by now?
we could build several of these for the price of a single B2 bomber.
wish we would spend our money on something like this instead.
