Not all, some. But watching netflix and downloading game updates have nothing to do with the 'stability of the service' and could be allowed even on a banned box.
They removed OTHER functionality from the box UNRELATED to XBOX LIVE. I don't remember seeing "disabling normal operation of your xbox" in the Terms of Service. This is illegal and with any luck MS will be punished for it.
Don't get me wrong, I am happy that pirates and hackers are removed from XBL. But the minute MS destroys offline functionality on a modified box, they are asking for legal action.
Yes, Microsoft basically "bricked" several offline features of the console. The lawsuit has nothing to do with access to the XBL service and everything to do with the additional removal of features totally unrelated to xbox live.
Except the case has nothing to do with access to xbox live. Microsoft has disabled features that are used while the box is OFFLINE. I didn't sign any agreement about what I will do with the box while I am not connected to XBL.
Microsoft has done much more than prevent access to the service. These are other features that have been blocked:
* Cannot install games to the HDD * Cannot use Windows Media Centre extender * Cannot access netflix rentals * Cannot download game updates and extra content that are used in offline play
Microsoft has disabled features of the console that are used during offline play. This is the problem. They are doing more than just banning you from using the service.
Who filters the users by region? Does MS and Sony give NY state the list of users that live there or does NY state tell MS to broadcast the message to this region?
If you used Firefox (or Opera) you could use greasemonkey (or userjs) to change Google's background to Bing's. Then you could get your pretty pictures and quality search results at the same time.
Sorry, you're incorrect.

WRONG.

Sup lol?
I think GP is referring to using more resources (hardware acceleration) to barely pull out mediocre performance.
These are the sunspider results. Link
You just hit the nail on the head.
Pussy.
Did Kurt Greenbaum rape and murder a young girl in 1990? Heh, just kidding!
nt
can't really compare between Linux distros as they almost never use the same drivers
Actually they would be using the exact same driver. The driver is in the kernel, and can only change between kernel versions.
Strange, it was 3rd in the list last time I looked. (Last year sometime... I don't use IE)

Oh god... I can't imagine what driving in a city like NY or Chicago would be like with roundabouts at every cross street!
The reason they jeer is because if it is easy to set up it doesn't teach you jack about how it works.
Bootstrapping a Gentoo install will teach you more about how operating systems and computer hardware work than any class you'll take at university.
It's more the fault of not having anyone decent to vote for.
-1 Wrong would come in real handy right here.
Everything works fine, he's just never used it.
We already have this, it's called the middle class.
Perhaps your theory is _not_ plausible, and the scientists know more than the average slashdot commenter?
