    If genuine, Microsoft most probably is after Yahoo's user base, not its software nor its engineers.

    Well, money (shareholders) always prefer instant gratification, seldom does it care about the company and its long term health, it can always move to the next company.

    I think utility computing is good, virtualization is flexible and nice.

    But in the end, all this may result in increased server/hardware prices.

    Think about it, mass production of low end servers what reduced the cost of server hardware.

    If everyone used utility computing, that might mean less hardware needed and produced which makes it cost more to produce.

    That maybe, but we don't hear people calling CBS or NY Times are advertising company.

    What I see is Google seem to be making lots of software, and selling that software to me online by allowing me to use it for free in exchange of viewing ads, same as most TV channels allow me to see their shows.

    Well, yes but not this way. It would have been far more effective name recognition campaign if RedHat itself provided the RHEL for free, and not someone else with no credit to RedHat as it requests.

    I hate the fact that OpenOffice Impress drawings of curves and circles looks ugly. I just checked the latest release of 2.3 today, it still draws ugly. Microsoft fixed this problem with its Office 97, which was 10 years ago..

    My prediction is that cars will TOTALY fail within a year or two and the horse+carridge will make a glorious return!

    man, thats why horse+carridges was replaced in the 1st place, many different breeds of donkeys, horses, mules, oxes.. they all behaved differently, some kicks, some bites.. god-bless-if-alive, your great grandpa might tell you more of those days..

    how can businesses buying ice cream for their employees ever narrow it to just a few flavors that their employees will likely approve of? The choice is just too difficult.

    Right.., my company just spent a zillion dollar trying to train its staff how to eat the ice creams it served during its annual staff dinner.
