More than half of a sample can be above or below average. Exactly half will be above and below the median.

If you have [13, 13, 13, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20], the average is 15 and the median is 14. Only 3 numbers are above average, while 5 are below. OTOH, exactly 4 numbers are above median, and 4 numbers are below median.

You might want to rethink that statement in the future.

Yep, you just add it above the footer and float it left.

The only bad part is some slight sizing gymnastics involved: since the box model says that width is the width of the _content_, and padding and borders are added outside that, you've gotta be careful by making all your widths add up to 100% or less (or, a bit easier, to a certain pixel width).

Oh for fuck's sake! I never complain in a forum about spelling, much less on slashdot for poor language is a given, but, PLEASE, use a fucking comma. Read your own sentences: Normally animals and for that matter people given unlimited diets will only have a few individuals get fat. As a general rule diet and for that matter exercise just have little or no effect. Now, if you read them as you wrote them, you are breathless --and clueless. Let's try another version: ~~ I have no argument with the studies, but I thought throwing a few more facts in the soup might be interesting. Normally, animals -and, for that matter, people- given unlimited diets will only have a few individuals get fat. As a general rule, diets -and, for that matter, exercise- just have little or no effect. We do know several things that do cause weight gain. It is known, for example, that deliberate malnutrition will cause weight gain. (anybody heard of a feed lot? That's what it does.) Genetic engineering of late has been producing the same effect as the feed lot diet. There are a lot of other factors, like loss of sleep. Maybe our society and lifestyle really are a disease. We tend to get an arrogant disregard for sleep in our society, and we also get a disregard of the quality of our food, having food sellers pushing foods that are grown in conditions that don't exactly produce the best balanced nutrition. ~~ Now, barring the fact that you used repeat time and again the same sentences, you can be understood. We may be arrogant about sleep, but you seem to be arrogant about language. I refuse to believe that your keyboard is comma-deprived, and although ${deity} may forbid you from using them in sentences, and I can accept the existance of errors (typos are undeniable), not even "This is not my main language" is an acceptable excuse; english isn't my main language either.
