Couldn't it be also your fault? I think before banning entire IP block Taco or others should have connected the block-owner for abuse, I bet they didn't take that serious.
I lived that crap too... An unserious ISP, one day I figured the mails I sent were filtered because of their stupid ignores of abuse reports.
Find a better ISP, or if you are on.edu etc, get rid of that admin soon.
Even on a 100 user IRC network people think 3 times before banning a domain like 192.168.100.* (fake IP).
He speaks about Opera 7. I liked Opera 6 simple mailing stuff (yes, I am a minimalist user) too, but not an issue.
Opera 7, has M2 (mail 2.0 I guess) and its amazing stuff. I even know some guys, IE fanatics use it instead of OUTLOOK, yes, outlook! It has IMAP, built in spam filtering and real interesting way of organising mails. All in one pool etc (I guess, its similar to Lotus notes style)
Here, http://www.opera.com/products/desktop/m2/
And... You say html editor, irc client is a plus for Mozilla? well... I know they can be seperately downloaded so I don't count them as bloat. But.. man, IRC client in a browser. In Java 2 days... Come on.. Have you seen Java based IRC clients running in browser lately?
Update:, Jan 14: Apparently the fact that Paul Festa linked here from his CNET article is going to reduce my Livejournal to the unadulterated depths of uselessness that the Slashdot forums have pioneered, so I guess I'll just turn off comments until the newbie shitstorm blows on by. I'm not interested in your opinion. I'm not interested in explaining to you how you've completely missed the point of my post. I just don't care. Thank you, drive through. ____ Registered Opera 7 user, k-lined from irc.mozilla.org with some fake reason. I'd say, burn my karma too, mozilla fanatics, I just don't fucking care too... Ilgaz
Google's use of Linux doesn't make me trust more to them. They are just a commercial company. Not heroic "angels". Wake up already!
Limewire is opensource now with GPL but their commercial installer installs the evil TopMoxie with the client which I believe was coded by Limewire founders themselves.
They having "GPL" label doesn't make them fully trustable. It works for Google too.
I am a registered Opera 7 (currently beta) user and with any experiment, Opera 7 loads faster and you can click to address bar and type address faster than IE. The response time I mean. I sometimes feel like using IE or have to use it, man that browser after Opera response time and speed makes me real mad.
This is P4 1800 with 256 mb RDRAM with all updates installed Windows XP SP1 (yes the IE os:)) , so please someone doesn't popup and say my system is slow.
While I don't agree with your comments (MS coders being ultra cool), I agree with you that those guys has the OS kernel source in their hands so they have the mega advantage.
I am telling the fact that Mozilla coders should stop whining about the IE preloaded kind of urban legend nor, it has superiour DHTML features, XHTML UI etc just because the same reasons as you. I just don't agree to ms coders are kind of ultra cool coders. They are _not_ bad coders of course, MS is a programmer giant but they aren't all programmer geniouses. They have the advantage thats all. IE DLL's preloaded? Oh time to blame AOL at first. They _still_ use mshtml.dll , all available com objects etc on their OWN flagship apps like ICQ.
oh those points made me k-lined from their IRC server with fake reasons:)
Next "blog" story will be the ultimate conspiracy that IE uses raw sockets features of the evil alien XP to use UDP packets to speak with IIS servers I bet:D
I use Win XP pro now, I had Linux kernel somewhere and when I checked rt8139.c on LINUX kernel, there is a similar thing as that.
That was the main reason I decided to replace the NIC with another card. Also... YES, its sucky. On windows the "sucky" includes the drivers too.. They don't "release IP" which becomes a huge problem for Cable Internet support services.
Another "cool" thing about Realtek;-) They provide Linux driver, check it... Its ZIP format, for gods sake:)
Jordan kingdom family:) His father (Late King Hussein of Jordan) was a amateur radio hobbyist too... His callsign JY1 (http://www.ham-shack.com/amateur_radio.html)

Let me say, I am a Yahoo user and NOT impressed by Google results in Yahoo.
Yahoo is, always been one of top 5 sites on web.
"According to comScore Networks' Internet audience measurement service, Yahoo ranked No. 2 in November among all search engines with 40.6 million unique visitors. Of the top 15 such sites, three were powered by Inktomi's search services." http://www.macon.com/mld/macon/news/na tion/4800740.htm
Yes, even with MS lame auto searches, non resolving DNS tricks (sending people to msn when they made typo on url).
I use alltheweb.com lately with Opera 7 search bar, a fast.no product.
But.. my.yahoo.com has been my start page for years (4 I guess) and it won't change until I find a good alternative.
The "phone" call is nothing but a IMA ADCPM (4bits 8000khz) thing by default.
Its just human voice. not music or anything.
Thats how 28.8K modem users can call eachother via Windows ICQ (via Net2Phone codecs)
Man/Woman, whoever you are... Now that was genius work, I have never seen such a thing in my life.
btw, feel free to "offtopic" me and waste my karma, I give my karma to that!
They don't post anything on Weekends. In fact, CNET doesn't post...
:)
:)
Its real funny if you think they are net companies
ever saw "weekend edition" on News.com? it meeans that
CNN is part of AOL/TW. ;-)
ever wonder why msnbc shows the Linux vulnerability news before others?
btw, I have never seen Slashdot like a breaking news site, its more like, "information from other indivuals too" site for me. I mean on replies etc.
In fact, its not likely over. On my Agnitum Outpost firewall, I started to see Class A (USA) Ip's probing that post.
God forbid it it spreads to USA.

I am a registered Opera user. Opera, as all browsers offers paid bookmarks by default (e.g. news, science etc)

That "UFO Mag" is in entertainment folder.

Neither, in fact nobody.

they brand you insightful or informative. See how easy people are influenced :))

So, you will have "1000% warning" of radiation, will it help? It works at light speed! The radiation. You will run away?
Try to make your goverment a bit peaciful instead.
Like, not bombing Iraq for sake of 3-4 petrol companies.
OMG It happened!
/me dies
Finally someone compared a desktop (not pro, I know some ati pro level cards as matrox ones) Gfx card, optimized for gaming... With... SGI...
Yes, folks this is history.
BSD is dying too!
Thanks for impressive comment as usual, comparing $3000 Wintel PC's with SGI etc.
Hey, look they don't have SSE/MMX too! 700Mhz even!
argh...

"Where the hell did Yahoo come up with $235 million in cash?"
You are joking right? I don't even care to provide you info, like Yahoo floats on $$$ cash for years.
Even their worst times, they had $2 billion in hand.
Let me say, I am a Yahoo user and NOT impressed by Google results in Yahoo.

MicroJava J2ME It made kind of revolution on cell phones. Not expensive too...
Now I downloaded a unit converter to my Siemens C55 for instance. A Nokia owner can download and run it too.
I have some network configuration problems on my carrier but when I verify it works, I'll download a pop3 mail checker to my device.
for us, normal web surfers, it does matter.
Now stfu
Like that erm, what was the name? Oh, SVG?
Where is svg used for gods sake?
Wake up from the utopia you live my friend.
Oh I am a heavy websurfer. I surf web a lot... Come on... Don't spread false information.
Add Opera too... Uses NSCP plugin arch. They hate Opera more than they hate Mozilla u know.
