    The "phone" call is nothing but a IMA ADCPM (4bits 8000khz) thing by default.

    Its just human voice. not music or anything.

    Thats how 28.8K modem users can call eachother via Windows ICQ (via Net2Phone codecs)

    btw, I have never seen Slashdot like a breaking news site, its more like, "information from other indivuals too" site for me. I mean on replies etc.

    Couldn't it be also your fault? I think before banning entire IP block Taco or others should have connected the block-owner for abuse, I bet they didn't take that serious.

    I lived that crap too... An unserious ISP, one day I figured the mails I sent were filtered because of their stupid ignores of abuse reports.

    Find a better ISP, or if you are on .edu etc, get rid of that admin soon.

    Even on a 100 user IRC network people think 3 times before banning a domain like 192.168.100.* (fake IP).

    I am a registered Opera user. Opera, as all browsers offers paid bookmarks by default (e.g. news,science etc)

    He speaks about Opera 7. I liked Opera 6 simple mailing stuff (yes, I am a minimalist user) too, but not an issue.

    Opera 7, has M2 (mail 2.0 I guess) and its amazing stuff. I even know some guys, IE fanatics use it instead of OUTLOOK, yes, outlook! It has IMAP, built in spam filtering and real interesting way of organising mails. All in one pool etc (I guess, its similar to Lotus notes style)

    And... You say html editor, irc client is a plus for Mozilla? well... I know they can be seperately downloaded so I don't count them as bloat. But .. man, IRC client in a browser. In Java 2 days... Come on.. Have you seen Java based IRC clients running in browser lately?

    Neither, in fact nobody.

    Google's use of Linux doesn't make me trust more to them. They are just a commercial company. Not heroic "angels". Wake up already!

    Limewire is opensource now with GPL but their commercial installer installs the evil TopMoxie with the client which I believe was coded by Limewire founders themselves.

    They having "GPL" label doesn't make them fully trustable. It works for Google too.

    I am a registered Opera 7 (currently beta) user and with any experiment, Opera 7 loads faster and you can click to address bar and type address faster than IE. The response time I mean. I sometimes feel like using IE or have to use it, man that browser after Opera response time and speed makes me real mad.

    This is P4 1800 with 256 mb RDRAM with all updates installed Windows XP SP1 (yes the IE os :)) , so please someone doesn't popup and say my system is slow.

    While I don't agree with your comments (MS coders being ultra cool), I agree with you that those guys has the OS kernel source in their hands so they have the mega advantage.

    I am telling the fact that Mozilla coders should stop whining about the IE preloaded kind of urban legend nor, it has superiour DHTML features, XHTML UI etc just because the same reasons as you. I just don't agree to ms coders are kind of ultra cool coders. They are _not_ bad coders of course, MS is a programmer giant but they aren't all programmer geniouses. They have the advantage thats all. IE DLL's preloaded? Oh time to blame AOL at first. They _still_ use mshtml.dll , all available com objects etc on their OWN flagship apps like ICQ.

    oh those points made me k-lined from their IRC server with fake reasons :)

    Next "blog" story will be the ultimate conspiracy that IE uses raw sockets features of the evil alien XP to use UDP packets to speak with IIS servers I bet :D

    I use Win XP pro now, I had Linux kernel somewhere and when I checked rt8139.c on LINUX kernel, there is a similar thing as that.

    That was the main reason I decided to replace the NIC with another card. Also... YES, its sucky. On windows the "sucky" includes the drivers too.. They don't "release IP" which becomes a huge problem for Cable Internet support services.

    Another "cool" thing about Realtek ;-) They provide Linux driver, check it... Its ZIP format, for gods sake :)

    Let me say, I am a Yahoo user and NOT impressed by Google results in Yahoo.

    Yahoo is, always been one of top 5 sites on web.

    Yes, even with MS lame auto searches, non resolving DNS tricks (sending people to msn when they made typo on url).

    I use alltheweb.com lately with Opera 7 search bar, a fast.no product.

    But.. my.yahoo.com has been my start page for years (4 I guess) and it won't change until I find a good alternative.

    MicroJava J2ME It made kind of revolution on cell phones. Not expensive too...

    Now I downloaded a unit converter to my Siemens C55 for instance. A Nokia owner can download and run it too.

    I have some network configuration problems on my carrier but when I verify it works, I'll download a pop3 mail checker to my device.
