While nicotine is a dangerous chemical poison (and useful insecticide) I was always under the impression it was other chemicals in cigarettes that were even more harmful.
There's some truth to that in that both are easy to learn, and slower to run. However python is quite powerful - it can do almost anything. Basic was quite limited.
In the medical world companies file similar enough patents to confuse government examiner's basically getting a 25 year extension. Not sure if Intel has done this or not.
Many Mac owners, myself included have a lot of older equipment too. I'm typing this in a 3 month old Macbook air, however I have a few Mac mini doing various tasks around the house and a Macbook 5,2 with maxed out ram and an SSD which works well. I love the fact that they were continuing to get OS updates at least.
It's understandable that after so many years updates may stop though.
That would be a terrible idea, there are many areas where electric cars aren't practical like Alaska. Industries such as trucking don't have electric technology available to them yet. Instead, a small tariff on gasoline a few cents per gallon, and a direct subsidy to cleaner cars would help to equalize the cost or tip slightly in favour of electric or cleaner technology. This would naturally cause many people to switch to the cheaper, cleaner options.
Personally I think a lot of people might be more focused on long term goals like finishing their education, building new inventions and such if they aren't worried about basic food and housing. It's a great goal for society to work towards, even if it's not practical now.
I do the same, and also: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/
Maybe because New Zealand is isolated from the rest of the world a bit, their view on the news often seems less biased.
Of course Apple is too big to come up with the next big thing. Great ideas start in basements and garages, just like Apple when they first started.

Flip phones are great, battery lasts weeks not hours, better call quality and reception. I bring my old nokia flip on a $25 / year cell phone plan. I also have an ipad mini with LTE, but normally leave it at home.

Amazon will now sentance you to 10 years hard labour for questioning their authority.
Another reason to always use a VPN as well. I run my own on a digitalocean droplet.
I quit smoking 22 years ago and I agree!!

The same could be said for forks, guns, cars, swing sets, dating sites etc. People have and will continue to die from all of those on a regular basis.

It's marketing. "unlimited" sells
You lost me at easy....
It's a great idea in theory, in practice it will probably not be kept up to date. Most people can't be bothered to keep any backups.

The marketing department finally realized flac support would be a great way to sell larger phone storage.
They probably allow access to "googlebot" just not other browers. So technically possible, but against google tos.

Another good idea would be adding a contact switch to the hood, so the alarm will go off when the hood is opened. Jeep should have done this from new.

That was it. I remember getting a free copy of Windows NT with Visual Basic 5, and I waited a bit before switching as 98 SE was pretty solid.
98 sp2 was okay, but 98 regular would sure crash alot.

I'm actually considering a BB for my next phone, might just be the best way to do Android.
Birth control is best in layers, so socks and sandals, unkept beard while carrying a D&D rule book will do the trick for sure.
