DUHHHHHHHHH...... What do you think we pay them for. The real problem is the sense of over importance most americans have. Let me clue you in on something. No one give a shit about you. NOT NSA, FBI, or even your local police. They don't care what you did Friday night or who you were with. Their problems is they have to much information to sift through. So odds are unless you are planning the next terrorist attack to rock the world or you are a writer for the NYTimes they don't care.

Several years ago I was at Budget rent a car in Provo, Ut. While waiting in the lobby I saw a gentleman wearing a Caldera T-Shirt. I started a conversation with him and asked him if he worked for Caldera. He replied that he didn't but was a PR Consultant for them. Curious about the local tech company I asked them how business was going. He said business was going well and that they just had a record quarter. I asked him what made what this quarter so good. He replied that Caldera had just settled law suit with Microsoft Concerning DR DOS. After a few more questions about the company's future it didn't seem as though they had a clear strategy for making money. Looks like they have one now. Why sell software when you can buy a the right to sue the tech world at large? Its all about free money.... free money

That is a good point. The most important aspect of a protocol is that the are adheard too. And people follow the new standards that are accepted by the internet community at large. How can the EU or the UN do that when they can't even enforce thier own protocols or resolutions. I think the UN's first project for after they gain control is to change all RFCs to PGIs (Pretty Good Ideas) because they incapable of enforce anything.

We all learned from starwars that the first thing you do in an invations is cut communications. Does the EU know something we don't? Lets see the EU seems to be doing pretty good at managing thier own countries why not the internet. They would propbably pose a 60% tax on it domain name registration to support all the sybersquatters that don't have jorbs. What does France care anyways don't they still use the MiniTel?
