Again, the majority of those listed under the plant patent act.
"mechanical picking is the future by necessity."
Not even close with my crop production systems. One person can run the entire operation, with an extra helping hand for harvest. One acre of tomatoes in a 12.5x12.5m building, 75% less water usage, 40% less nutrient usage, about 40% less in artificial lighting power requirements. You may study these things, but you haven't put them into practice.
In the world? More than you just listed, by far. Rices, Potatoes, Fruit cultivars, and much, much more.
Easiest way is to check every crop protected under the plant patent act. Thousands of listed crop species there with GMO modification.
And in reality, plenty of heirloom cultivars last AS LONG as their GMO counterparts in shelf-life. It's breeding for mechanical picking that begins the real fuckups.
I know these things already, and I also know that half of what you've said is pretty wrong.
Excuse me? The natural extract of cannabis, Sativex, has obtained FDA approval.
The problem is that THC *ALONE* doesn't do the entire job and other cannabinoids present are what really make it work. Nobody seems to understand the synergistic effects of cannabinoids upon each other, so this isn't entirely surprising that people wouldn't have a clue on how to properly apply the chemcials found in cannabis.
Your proof is nonsense. Come back when you actually have a full understanding of the plant.

First off - Australian Bastard Cannabis - a crossbreeding of hops and cannabis, is quite potent, actually, and doesn't look like cannabis due to the rounded leaves. Well, it doesn't look like it until it flowers, then you aren't mistaking the cannabis buds. And you've never had beer until you have had it made from ABC.
THC is not ENTIRELY water soluble (saturation at 2% concentration in water) but is quite soluble in ethanol - why use hops if you aren't making a brew?
That higher yield doesn't man shit when an heirloom cultivar with a smaller fruit contains more nutrition than TWO larger GMO fruits combined.
And it's been that way for 50 years and steadily declining.

Dude, you got owned by a girl on slashdot and had your ass handed to you. Quit being butthurt about the fact someone with more brains than you kicked your ass.
Also, speaking as a research director, you very obviously have a crappy pool of knowledge to draw from. Precedence, hah.
I guess you didn't RTFA or even the whole of TFS, or you would have seen other numbers besides the first ones, such as performing better than that in lower-light conditions.
"Moores laws states that you can place twice the number of transistors in the same space every 2 years."
No, Moore's Law states that the number of COMPONENTS in an integrated circuit doubles roughly every two years. This does NOT imply solely that transistors alone are being added.

I would like to know how they were tracking us and why we weren't told about this.
"No, in commercial production."

Problem with that is you establish a new base line.
You do realize it takes much longer than a week for any photobiological system to create cannabinoids, right?
Also, you need UV light for THC production. Water likes to cut that out quite a bit.

We don't eat it, precisely because it's near-impossible to function once that first liver pass happens and that THC becomes even more potent.
SMOKING it is one thing.
Purified extracts are an entirely different world and last much, MUCH longer.
THC *IS* a cannabinoid.
Elsewise, it would not interact with our endoCANNABINOID system.
No, as THC is highly useful as an immunosuppressant and in the field of transplant medicine that would be far more desirable of a compound to isolate.
I take it you haven't seen the multiple studies that show that this isn't some bias but an actual demonstrable ability?
"Walk into any restaurant today and ask for a fruit salad. Tell me how many serve you one that contains tomatoes and cucumbers."
Multiple ones with half a fucking clue (Oh, hi, I'm a trained chef, engineer, research director, and porn store clerk. Your ANYTHING is invalid, son.)

Please have a seat and let knowledgeable people talk, as you're not qualified for this discussion.
There are dozens of extremely naturally sweet tomato cultivars.
"However, culinarily, as they are not sweet"
BULLSHIT. Go pick up a cherry or grape tomato that's been on the vine in the sun, and bite into it. Tell me that isn't sweet.
I cultivate hundreds of tomato cultivars as part of my LED research. Let me guess, only had store tomatoes your entire life?
Except tomatoes in a fruit salad are fucking awesome, so those judges were very obviously unqualified to make such a legal call.
The same peak voltage came from the limited cell. 1.5V isn't hard to generate even under poor lighting conditions.
What mattered was he got more amperage with one design versus another, in both conditions.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how we measure power - you can't just look at ONE side of the equation.
I guess you didn't RTFA or even the whole of TFS, or you would have seen other numbers besides the first ones, such as performing better than that in lower-light conditions.

"Bloody obvious."
So obvious a Seventh grader did it, but no other major company?
Please. You show your ignorance too easily.
Excuse me? It's YOUR job to quit being a lazy ass and drop that entitlement bullshit right now.
You must still be in high school. Just wait until you're out of mommy's basement, you'll start learning to do things for yourself rather quickly.

This is an indicator of people wanting to give karma bonuses for the statement. Funny doesn't award Karma.
Never change, 1,000,000+ UID guys.
"Basically, you think the cop should be charged exactly the same as a regular citizen would be and that is what I disagree with."
And that is where you are wrong, as the cop is nothing more than an ordinary citizen given more power.
And my suggestion was a MINIMUM.
