    And in bad fashion, I must note that I'm NEVER loading up 100 webcams. Usually I only have 10 or so loaded, as that saturates my connection.

    Camfrog and Skype Video at full FPS is quite bandwidth-intensive, Camfrog 100x more than Skype since I can load 100 webcams as a registered Pro user.

    128 megs of video ram? were you running XP or Vista? Vista allows for memory sharing, and Assassin's Creed ran just fine on a dual core 1.8 ghz C2D with 1 gig of system memory dedicated to video and one gig dedicated to the OS and programs. GPU is a faulty as hell 8600M GS, for which I have to send the laptop in to have replaced. By default, however, my 8600M has a dedicated 512 megs of RAM before the Vista added memory.

    If the flash storage were made from chalcogenic crystals like rewritable optical media bit rot wouldn't be an issue. It has two crystalline structures, so you have one and zero right there. you'd need direct electrical current to even change the crystalline structure.

    AKA Phase Change Memory.

    Yea, the Skarrj dodge, you have the option of turning dodging on or off in the main menu (or if you're a tweaker you can bring up the GUI console and find that option plus many other options to tweak)

    Unreal owns the concept of the Double-tap dodge (kinda like how ET did the double-tap forward-crouch prone)

    Have your doctor check your eyes, if such a visually low-strain scheme like white text on black background hurts your eyes, you have something wrong and probably need Lasik corrective surgery.

    You seem to me to be a poor designer - white text on black background is the standard for readability for users with vision issues, and is far less eye-strain inducing. However, I agree, white on green is just absolute bullshit.

    Wrong. When plugged in the controller goes into USB mode. Also, most any other controller works just fine with the PS3, including my first-gen USB wireless keyboard/mouse combo (One of Compaqs first models) and my Thrustmaster Firestorm joystick.

    The purpose of QA/Testing IS to make the machine crash. If you crash it - it's faulty and needs repair. If you can't crash it, it's good to go. It's called Burn-in.

    I can only assume you've NEVER worked in a computer repair depot, before.

    The device was a projector. No driver needed. Just run the video signal to the projector and voila.

    I'll bet more on faulty HARDWARE inside the computer judging by the error message at the bottom.

    It's accurate enough. The way they're exploiting the system is new, however, the files involved in the exploits have been known to be rather faulty and have been used in other exploits.

    On a related note, some random person just shouted that he can pick locks using standard gardening shears - He didn't give details. I guess that I'll just remove my front door when I get home today...

    I don't even need garden shears, a book of matches can do the trick just as well if you only lock the bottom lock of your door and don't deadbolt it.

    I could just locally buy the raw materials for most cables far cheaper than a pre-made cable. Exceptions are HDMI (Still gotta figure the pinouts and resistance of the wire) S-Video, and a few other multi-signal cables with a single connector plug.

    $100 for 1,000 feet of Cat5E, $20 for crimpers and $20 for terminators. Composite is much cheaper as it's simply coax, and the connectors are rather standard.

    Exactly. I've never actually figured out why people would spend so much money on a high end gaming pc when the consoles are equal or ahead anyway in performance and the savings can be put to better use or to more geeky things.

    That's why my laptop runs Assassin's Creed at max everything flawlessly while my PS3 at standard definition can't even maintain a steady 30FPS? My dual-core laptop versus an 8-core dedicated console, bear that in mind. It's not even a relatively new model, either, just a DV9000 series from HP.
