It's the Democrats that come up with that "war on" bullshit. War on women, hispanics, blacks, etc. War on women, really? Yet some women bought it. Granted, only the stupid ones. Bad as saying Obama has a war on men since he's not handing out free condoms. Just as absurd.
OTOH, I have a feeling some big Obama supporters are about to be busted and normally they'd lose everything. With this, they keep on going like the energizer bunny.
I bet you didn't know the Jim Crowe laws were all democratic. Look up Governor Wallace, check into it. They have a very, very racist past. All the way up to today.
If you've written a Linux device driver, why are you asking us for anything? You already know damn well how to do it and you know damn well why BSD isn't the right answer.
Go back into your mother's basement, and stay off my lawn.
What they do prevent changes in security controls until the deadline, then panic! Add in a serious vulnerability that needs to be patched too for good measure. Of course this could be just bad management as well.
Of course policies and procedures should be developed and tested. Otherwise, it's crap. Seen it my entire life. Untested code/procedures don't work.
Dunno, they moved us over to this office 365 stuff with sharepoint. What crap. Outlook? The 1990s called and they want their e-mail system back. It's like hotmail. Hard to find stuff too. Sharepoint is pain as well. Can't find a thing now, the google search could find anything. Even if it's out there you may still not have access. They also move stuff so you can't even book mark it (and again find it via search because it won't find it).
Thing is, they JUST put me on 7 a few months ago from XP. I don't even have it all set up yet. Win8 is as you said, a non starter.
The California DMV has them beat, they are still using code installed on UNISYS mainframes in 1970 to run the DMV core applications.
It is as old as I am...
A lot of states had Univac stuff. I worked on them. I didn't think anyone still had one running. I know the University of Maryland blew it out of the building back in the late 1980s and they wrote a lot of Exec 8. They wanted way too much money to run it. Replaced it with Unix systems of course. Far superior. Cal should upgrade from that old POS. I never considered it good when it was good. Helped put me through college though.
...No, stupid. Try proving the claims that your religion makes are true. Prove miracles.
Science has shown that most of those miracles happened and how. I know, surprised me too.
Prove life after death.
For most people to believe this one, it seems to require a near death experience. If it happens to you, you'll never forget it. It's also very difficult to convince other people. Could simply be the brain filling in events into something that makes sense to you. After all, the easiest person in the world to fool is yourself.
Prove Jesus rose from the grave. Hell, Prove Jesus ever actually existed.
Proving he existed is easy. The Roman records recorded it and it corresponds to the Bible accounts. Only a fool would dispute that. The governor Pontius Pilot (aka one bad dude) - existed as well, no doubt. His rising from the grave this far after the fact is probably impossible. Doesn't matter really. Focusing on that misses the entire point of religion. That is, let's stop killing each other and be civil towards one another. You really can go further in life with other people's help. Towards that end they have buildings called churches where you can meet other people and learn to work well with others, with any luck. In America there's bound to be one that you'd like. If you don't like a particular religion, try another.
Prove that humanity came from a single breeding pair. Find the genetic bottleneck in our genes from when the world was reduced to Noah and his family
This is a lot closer than you probably think. Read here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T... . I didn't get to just two people, however I think you'll agree that just 7 women is darn close. Now how this came to be is the question. Were we brought here from someplace else? Did earth suffer a catastrophic event that wiped out nearly everyone? If we were brought here, that would explain a lot. Finding a catastropic event would also explain a lot, like why the Americas were seemingly not inhabitted for so long.
.... Here in MA swat teams are private companies,...
Not gone un-noticed. I know about it clear down in Maryland. So do others. Last I knew they did that so they wouldn't have to answer FOIA requests. You know, try to hide their stupidity. I thought there was legislation to remove their ability to do that. MA is way out of my zone to care about, other than it could spread. Look into it and get it outlawed if that's not already under way. Understand that your life if you live in MA may depend on it. Less Rambo, more Sheriff Taylor.
The end point to this police/racial hoaxes recently is the crazy left wants to nationalize the police. Then we're all screwed.
At the risk of being called Captain Obvious - you don't drive much, do you? I've been driving for decades and most of the time it's in rush hour traffic. As a lot of driver ed video presentations have expressed over the years, you can't get a safe distance. If a space opens up, someone will take it. Only when I drive the Caddy or the Mercedes do I tend to get more space. If I drive the Chevy or the Ford, they're right on my bumper. Even so, about two years ago a young woman hit me in my 2001 Caddy so hard she pushed me into the car in front of me and I was in a full size Caddy. Her car of course was totally destroyed. I walked away without even so much as a scratch. The caddy having well over 250,000 miles on it of course was totalled as well. I still drove it home, no problem. Traffic stopped abruptly and I wondered if I'd hit the car in front of me. Then I realized I was fine... and Wham! This was just prior to a red light camera intersection. I think it was clear that camera caused the accident. She was wearing a seat belt and had air bags, though still ended up in the hospital. BTW, I've never had a red light camera ticket. I did get an old fashioned cop ticket for running a red light in Washington DC. My ass was still sticking into the intersection enough to get a ticket. They had us lined up on the side. Same thing.
Didn't your parents tell you to not be a dumbass if you are approached by Police? I mean this isn't hard. I'm white, and everyone I know was told this as well. You get smart, you may get a Mag flashlight across the head or worse. I know a guy that joked he had weed in his classic 1960s Mustang. They took it apart in a 7-eleven parking lot. No weed, no other contraband. He had to put it back together himself.
Act like a dumbass, suffer dumbass consequences. Nothing to do with you smart you are or your color.
Like everything in law, it depends. Most states have a compulsory ID law. You must present either your DL or an age of majority card. Failure to present ID could result in your arrest until they can determine if you are wanted or not. Contrary to popular belief, being black or another minority doesn't influence that decision. I know someone that was locked up over a weekend over that. After they showed them their ID, on Monday when they finally got it and they simply said - have a nice day. Have a nice fucking day? That didn't cut it.
Same advice the crazy leftists give their paid protesters. Make sure they have an ID when they go to protest.
Last I knew they weren't even an official entity. The member states didn't agree via a vote to make them a legal entity. Maybe those votes in the 2000s didn't matter after all? I remember France rejected it, so did others.
You really think so? Have you been smoking pot? The 1990s called and they want their e-mail system back. I have to use it at work, it's a POS. Well to be honest, it would have to get better to even be a POS.
Yea, office 365. Where I work they moved us to it over a lot of objections. All I can say is the 1990s called, they want their e-mail system back. What a POS. I'd love to give a year worth of office 365 service to my worst competitor. That should take care of 'em.
Have to wonder how this will play out. Will this be Cigarettes take two? Get people hooked and now it's harmful to our health. Then the lawsuits. Any big corporation would be nuts to take it on.
Then of course we'll have the dumbasses smoking and driving, and so on.
They should have followed the US rules on that. No restriction over nuclear power plants. Not needed. They only hurt normally law abiding citizens. As for the drone - yawn.
Journalism isn't a competitive major. Any idiot can get in there. Then, the profs are usually way way leftist and perpetuate even more idiocy. Even back in the early 1980s when I was a student. Wasn't new then, either. Can't fix stupid.
Dude, why in the world are you messing with Centos 6? Ugh, cups in that thing is like 7 years old. Upgrade to 7 or Fedora. Not sure about the future of Cups... Apple owns it now.
When they see a picture of a real man on the ladies Cell phone, they just can't believe it. Their genitalia isn't anywhere near that large, that's why they are cops. So they take the picture. Then share it.
Sometimes they come across a nude photo. I don't believe women are that dumb as to take nude photos of themselves. So prove me wrong.. I want to see those photos.
Microsoft Windows is not built on open-source code that was created by the community. Microsoft owns Windows, Red Hat does not own Linux.
Linux is supposed to be the anti-MS, that is one thing that a lot of people like about Linux. Some users do not like being shoved around by an abusive monopoly: be it Microsoft or RedHat.
You're wrong about Linux being anti-MS. That's simply not true. It's the free version of Unix. We had Unix long before Microsoft. It was around when Bill Gates was just a page walking around the halls of the US Congress. Clearly Windows was a joke well up until 2000. Unix you had to pay a lot of money for. I remember those days. I actually had paid for copies of Unix. $350 if memory serves me. There was also SUN's version for about $80. Ran only on their hardware though. Absolutely loved it when freebsd and Linux came out. Windows was crap. MS-DOS was just $30 at the time.
RedHat isn't an abusive monopoly. Not sure who told you that. They give away a lot of software, probably stuff in your favorite distro that you though they wrote. They have made some decisions that were unpopular, however I realized they were making the right decision. I'm sure some people disagree, just the nature of things. Choice for choices sake isn't always a good thing.
Anyhow, here we are all over again. Now it's bsd/sysv/systemd. To me there really is no choice. Sooner or later everyone else will realize it but the people who refuse to admit they were wrong. Sometimes that's entertaining too. When they are just really, really, really wrong about something and everyone knows it.
Yet again, people who don't want to learn something different. They learned the old way (so get off their lawn). There is no question the old BSD and sysv stuff has served its purpose well. For the past 10-15 years I really wished the startup would do things better. There was no reason to cling to those old ways especially with the new hardware. None at all. New stuff makes sense and isn't that hard to learn. Tear yourself away from looking at porn or games for an evening and learn it. It won't hurt, I promise. RedHat has a man ( for dummies if that helps ) page here - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki... . For most of you that's all you'll ever need to know. For guys like me - http://0pointer.de/blog/projec... .
Never see these discussions with Microsoft. It's their way (or the highway), right or wrong (mostly wrong). I didn't like it either. Spend about an hour, learn it, enjoy.
