Back in the IE6 days this was more true - you had to create a site that worked in all the browsers, then create a site that worked in IE. Every release since then it's been getting better. Partially it's that the IE market share dropped so MS had to get their browser back up to working with sites, but they've done a lot of work to make it closer to standards and not include non-standard extensions. These days I can pretty much code one site and just review it in IE to make sure it works fine (though libraries like jquery have helped that on the javascript end).
I still wouldn't use IE, but at least I don't have to spend as much time in it testing.
That's true if you're the conspiratorial type - from a realistic/business point of view there are multiple customers. There are the customers that provide money: the people wanting to sell ads, and the customers that provide screen space: the ones that view the ads. If Google doesn't appease both, their business would fail. In some cases, it's in Google's best interest for people to have free/cheap access to web-capable devices. The easier it is for people to get on the web, the more people that will give Google screen space, and the more companies will give Google money to fill that space.
Hopefully they'll get a faster supply line for a consumer release. At this rate, it will be several years before you'll be able to buy one next day delivery.
By depositing money that I can then withdraw later? You might not be using an actual bank if you feel you're getting robbed by it. Sure it's more accessible under your mattress, but that doesn't make it safer.
PHP and javascript are both fully functional programming languages even if both have flaws. CSS and HTML on the other hand are for web markup and display.
Form the NSA's perspective, they are interested in security - while the NSA itself has numerous means of getting into a system (including some legal ones!), they don't want China or random hackers to be taking control of systems. They're overall goal is security of the US, so while one arm is doing that by trying to collect all the information, another arm is doing that by locking down everything.
My bank changed me a fee for not using my account in a couple years. It had no money in it, so it was then overdrawn by $10 which they charged another fee for. I called them up and they removed it saying it was "just go get people's attention"
Was that a couple years ago? The FAA recently loosened restrictions on using devices including using them more of the flight and allowing wifi (cellphones still need to be in airplane mode which turns of the cell transmitter).
There's a difference between creating a product and creating a market for a product. The feature-phone/smartphone market was pretty much stagnating until Apple released their iPhone, at which point it took off. Android helped, but that was a bit later.
It CAN do anything but it's hard to mass produce properly. All these cool lab uses have been able to make small quantities, but it would be too expensive to make it that way. Small imperfections can mess up a batch.
Funny you should mention that since this very blog had a length article discussing that topic. It's gone now that match.com bought them out, but you can still find it in archives.
It works for a little while, but it still depends on the network having a public IP. A lot of ISPs, especially in Asian countries, have started implementing NAT level IP which means no UPnP and not even manual port forwarding.
Yes - clearly you should never type your passwords for online services into anything that might be connected to the Internet.
I don't use LastPass for more important sites like banking (or even email), but I certainly use it to generate and store a secure password for all the random web forums I visit.
Yes, the speed limit is typically a maximum of 65mph with a few of the big open space states that go up to 75mph. While people typically do drive 70-80, most people don't get experience driving 100, and the traffic certainly wouldn't have been giving way for him to be driving that fast in the left lane so he almost certainly would need to weave around.
There must be a different tea party I haven't heard of, because the ones I've talked to have been full on cut everything/remember bengahzi/obama is killing america
Well it's number 3 now (after Yahoo) so I'm sure they pay some money for that position

They could pay the other browsers the same way Google does

Why is that better? At least with a check I can deposit the money with my phone and I don't have to worry about being robbed on the way home.
Nice try goatse troll!
I think I'll pass on clicking that link given the thread.
Yes. I have that abomination on my cellphone. It sucks to plug in, but at least it's compatible with normal plugs

Some ISPs have started offering a "no sports" package that's cheaper and doesn't include it. For Verizon's plan, it's $25 cheaper.
Probably because he likes reading and wanted to read those 1300 books

No, they just followed it closely enough to see where it landed
