A bit of image searching for the surrounding area seems to confirm that the above non-Silverlight version is indeed of Budapest, so is probably the real photograph.
This is a fair point - this seems obvious, and I assumed this is how wind turbine based generators were used anyway. Is this actually the first of its kind?
Few ISPs in my area are clued up to blocking the appropriate ports it seems.
The ISP should not, not should they be expected to, block any ports. That would be very annoying to anybody that actually wants to use those ports. It wouldn't really be _fixing_ the problem...
The most confusing thing about the anti-piracy ads in cinemas (in the UK at least) is that they say something like:
"Don't watch pirated films - you'll lose the big screen image quality, and the incredible sound, and your view won't be spoiled by the person that goes to the toilet in front"
Whilst saying that last bit, they show a clip from a dodgy in-cinema cam job where somebody stands up in front of the camera.
What they fail to realise is that people do that in the cinema!
A normal program running with normal user privileges should not be able to crash a system. If it does (like in this case), then it must be a hardware/kernel/driver defect.
Sorry, school time is time that students should be using for, I dunno, learning. MySpace and MSN don't qualify, if this is really what they're looking to get to.
I can see where you're coming from there, but what if the students are not in lesson, during break times or at lunch? They are allowed to chat to each other about whatever they want there in person, so why not do it online as well? You generally aren't there to learn 100% of the time.
Wow, I didn't real[se that at all actually. That's not needed at all over here (in Jersey), and as far as I know the rest of the British Isles. I'm amazed by that in fact, it seems a bit draconian.

This is apparently a non-Silverlight version:

I can't compare it to the Silverlight version to compare though!
The menu video seems to be available, but the in game videos now give:
"This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by OnLive, Inc..."
I for one welcome our new termite dwelling microbe overlords.
1.1.16 and 1.1.17 are a lot newer than 1.1.9.

But does it run Linux?
He really only says he had 8000 views, although admittedly the comma is in a strange place.
NASA: "No, no, no. This sucker's electrical, but I need a nuclear reaction to generate the 1.21 gigawatts of electricity I need."
My thoughts exactly - it even says "the source code provided".
You won't find much information about running Spore with Wine because Spore isn't out yet!
Does he even show any overclocking?
Maybe it was a problem my end, but he just talked about this mythical tool for a while, then just as you really start to get into it - the video ends.
Are you using the very latest Flash from Adobe's "development" site?
The problem with that is that now it opens up in that stupid attempt at Flash fullscreen, that closes whenever you change focus to another window.
The old behaviour was much better (opening in a new browser window, but filling it).

I use number 4 - eight-eight-hundred-GTX
Have you used Wine recently?
To run modern games it generally requires a bit of tweaking, but there are a huge amount of things out that run without any configuration at all.
Take a look at the Platinum rated titles on the Wine AppDB - these run flawlessly with Wine without tweaking:

...welcome our new robot overlords.
For the record - I am NOT a fan of MySpace

As an adult I care about being IDed, as it creates the inconvenience of having to carry ID around everywhere...
I was about to say you're quite right, but I'm fairly sure manufacturers quote their capacities in MB rather than MiB, to make them look bigger...
