First of all, stop being pedantic. Second, the statement "FAA forbids the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles over crowded areas" is begging the question. It is basically saying "X should be regulated, because X is forbidden." If that isn't assuming the initial point (petitio principii), I don't know what is.

Or, they are desparately trying to avoid hurting the people. Obamacare has already cost people with cuts in hours, lost coverage, and hiring freezes.

Clearly the Republicans are just trying to protect the middle class by shutting down the government, which will in turn cost a few hundred thousand Americans their paycheck for the foreseeable future. It's not like taking a billion dollars out of people's pockets every week will have any negative consequences on the wider economy. There won't be any cuts in wages or hours, and company hiring policies will blossom due to the uncertainty!

How about they follow the laws they are enforcing? I can't count the times I've seen a cop fiddling with his dash-mounted computer while driving. Or following too closely. Or not wearing a seatbelt. Or speeding. I once saw one doing all four of these at the same time!

Back on topic. I got really mad at my wife just the other day for checking her email at a red light. My argument is that if there's an emergency vehicle approaching the intersection, you will be less likely to notice. You will also be less likely to check for pedestrians or other vehicles when the light turns green.

And to the lady who was "just using her GPS" that's the same as reading a map. If you need to do it, pull over, set what you need to set, then get back on the road. It's not that hard to do, and you're not in that big of a hurry.

I think the key is to cultivate these false identities on-line. Visit web pages that persona would visit. Post to forums that person would post on. And if you crank you tinfoil hat on just tight enough, you'll think of other things to do. Only surf as that person with your screen resolution set a certain way. Use a different browser, and never clear its cookies. Misspell the same word all the time.

All joking aside, I actually do have a fake Google + identity that I use to post negative reviews about places. I keep it civil, but you never know what a man might do if you say something negative about his brisket in Texas.

Thanks for that. I just learned something about PayPal. It theoretically can't be used to buy porn or items that promote racial intolerance.

Skrill's not any better (in theory) than PayPal, from what I can tell. They don't let you buy porn, booze, or ammo either. Also they have a pretty broad freeze policy:

Skrill reserves the right to apply at its sole discretion prevention and detection procedures and suspend and freeze accounts or refuse the execution of transactions if there are reasonable grounds to suspect that an account is being or may be used in connection with any of the foregoing or if governmental authorities require so.

ProPay has an even longer list of disallowed transactions (animals, event tickets, culturally insensitive materials), but they seem to protect the user a bit more.

In the event ProPay does not complete a transaction on time or in the correct amount, according to our agreement with you, we will be liable for your losses or damages proximately caused by this failure.
