    The difference is now they DNA test suspects. In such a system we're all suspects. Er- you'd all be suspects. I plan on living as much of my life outside the USA as possible.

    Really? Maybe I'm too much of a country kid, but I was thinking the opposite. That thing looked dreadful. The jumps they were doing were pathetic, it was slow, seemed to have no torque (it slowed down a lot uphill/at obstacles) and generally seemed pretty dull. I do like the drive mechanism though, and with 2 or 3 times the engine, it might be worthwhile.

    Haha! I had one of those too, and it also taught me to dial with the cradle switch. Though as people responded, touchtone service came slow in many places.. hell my cottage still doesn't have touchtone. When you pick up the phone you are greeted with a 2 or 3 second silence followed by a loud snap as some relay flicks too. (though at least we aren't on a party line anymore...)

    The 'breaking' part of breaking and entering refers to breaking the threshold. According to my highschool law class (yeah, I'm pulling out the big guns here), even if theres a hole in the wall, its breaking and entering.

    I'd love to have someone follow up on this, could come in useful some day.

    I've had the exact same experience, but swap pay-for program and AVG.
    In short, I don't think one event is enough to judge a program like that.

    As far as I know not a single American has died on American soil as a result of a terrorist attack since our invasion. In fact I don't know of any Americans that have died due to terrorists outside of Iraq and Afghanistan.

    As far as I know global temperature has been climbing since pirate populations have been declining. In fact I know that global temperatures are rising. It must be the pirates.

    And my argument was that gearheads dont know about computers, but gearheads dont HAVE to know about computers to use them properly. ie. spyware and all this isn't that big of a deal. The computer breaks, someone fixes it. The car breaks, someone fixes it. Both are complicated devices requiring a fair bit of knowledge to use/upkeep properly.

    I wasn't lumping us all together like that. My point was that he only thinks that way because of his experiences. A mechanic could easily make the reverse argument. I in no way meant that geeks dont know about cars.

    cars work just fine without knowing much about their inner workings, and computers don't.
    That sounds like a geek's opinion rather than a mechanic's. Its all a matter of perspective (except on the sweater front).
