a few years ago when firefox tweaked the toolbar and the preferences dialog thing, and feature bloat screwed it up i abandoned firefox for chrome, i tried palemoon for a little while but it dont cut it when it comes to HTML5, chrome is fine, chromium is good too if you need the tinfoil hat
my mom has been a terrestrial cable TV subscriber since the mid 1960's and i shown her satellite when it first got popular and she was not impressed, i shown her Roku and all the free stuff it includes and google's chromecast, and she had no interest in it, she love her basic cable, she gets 60+ channels but only watches about 5 of them, and does not care to change, she is too stubborn and set in her ways to change,
is when microsoft really shot themselves in the foot, people are generally low info and naive but with windows 10 microsoft really let the joe & jane sixpack what blatant spies and abusers of personal info microsoft is, i can see microsoft's user base continuing to erode until they are down below 30% of the internet population
i am ashamed of you slashdotters for not taking advantage of the Head in a Jar thing on Futurama, to make wisecracks about the worlds first head transplant, i wonder who the lucky head is? and the unfortunate head is?
I think low power non-licensed stations should be legal, maybe limit them to 5 watts or 20 watts whatever is prudent so they can cover a few square miles without bleeding over adjacent stations on nearby frequencies, maybe let the unlicensed low power stations have frequencies in the lower half of the FM broadcast band (89 to99) and the high powered licenced stations use the upper half of the FM broadcast band (100 to 108)
when capitalism went global it turned third world nations in to slave-states while the first world nations keep losing jobs and what jobs remain are given to illegal aliens or immigrants on H1B, so yeah, globalized capitalism sucks, and whats worse is all that crap shipped around the world on HUGE container ships that are not regulated so they spew HUGE amounts of greenhouse gasses in to the air,
which distro was mostly effected, forensics should be able to figure that out and then some more snooping find the culprets, if they are developers that contribute to Linux then they need to be found out and blacklisted and removed and maybe send a goon squad to go break their knees and fingers
you might be right, two major competing distros could be Gnome/Linux and KDE/Linux battling for the desktop, it wont kill off the other distros but it could wake them up and consider collaborating for a more user friendly desktop for the average joe and jane sixpack PC user
