i think it would be morally wrong to have the ability to cure the colorblind (or any other disability or disease) but not do it out of some delusional religious belief.
everyone knows those gasoline powered alarm clocks are no good, i always go for the diesel powered alarm clocks the work much better, i tried the nitro-methane clock but it would blow a gasket every time it updated to NTP
economic progress like lead paint on children's toys, poisonous pet food, cheap costume jewelry for teenagers made from cadmium which is a carcinogen, and chinese electronics that are so poorly made that are absolutely shameful, i wonder how much crap gets in that is really bad or poisonous for you that has slipped in without its toxic ingredients being discovered, if you ask me i would embargo chinese made products and have everything with a "made in china" sticker on it sent to a land fill and buried. and tell the USN to shell and sink any cargo ships with chinese made products on sight. (just kidding about the Navy part) but yeah, i would embargo chinese products and make them illegal, maybe after a few years of losing all that commerce with the USA china would pull their head out of their butt and get some quality control inspectors and regulate the crap they throw together and ship over here.
this is MY computer, i own the goddamn thing, and i can install any software i want and that includes things like greasemonkey facebook purdy if i chose to do so, after all the sleazy advertising crap that went on a few years back i was really grateful for tools like Adblock Plus & NoScript, i don't use social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace & Twitter, if i want to contact my friends i do it via two-way radio or a telephone if i have something more confidential to talk about.
some of my friends have never owned a computer, computers can be troublesome and annoying so i really dont blame them.
in a comment a few months ago and everyone dismissed me as a lunatic, now here is some more newer scientific documentation and evidence backing it up, HFCS is bad.
is that they are making hand grenades with this ghost pepper, have they considered painball guns and instead of paint in the paintballs use powdered or jelled ghost pepper
i have one PC i leave booted up and running with Linux on it 24/7/365 and it is about 10 years old, those IDE/PATA drives are incredibly dependable, they had dirty/hard umounts from power failures many times and ext3 recovered nicely each time, they had various Linux releases installed on them several times, plus/home getting written to many many many times.
how is the SSD's dependability going to compare like under the same conditions?
the federal government can not force anyone or everyone to buy anything, not a TV, a particular brand of automobile or heath insurance, i hope this falls on its face before it gets implemented.
when was the last time you took a computer monitor and folded it up and stuffed it in to an envelope, or in your pocket?
also a pen/pencil & paper does not require a battery / electricity
rather than slowly dieing in a hospital while the doctors tally up the profits i would rather stay home and wash down a bottle of pills with a fifth of whiskey and drift off to sleep and never wake up.
its much better to work for some huge soulless corporate pig where everything you create is owned by the pig and all you get is a measly salary and the pig gets richer and fatter while you wonder if you have enough to retire on at 65

to hell with China, this is coming from a nation that puts lead paint on children's toys, makes jewelry for teenagers out of cadmium, makes infant formula with poison in it just to pass a test so they can sell it, makes pet food poisonous too, no telling what else that slipped through under the radar, so fuck china i hope they all die a miserable death!
that means everyone with Win2k/XP gotta buy a new PC or get a retail copy of windows-vista/7 = which means more money in microsoft's coffers, fsck em, go get a copy of Linux for free!
they should at least keep it intact and in good working order and if they ever need it they can just start it back up with little or no effort. thats too much invested to just sell off as junk surplus equipment.
