    i will stick with the luddites and keep my old 4.7 gig DVDs and wait another year for market forces to decide who is the real winner before i upgrade to the new format, six on one hand have a dozen on the other is the way i see it = sure HD-DVD is cheaper now but that wont make a difference if BlueRay pulls ahead in a few years, i take great pride in being a luddite living on the older tech = dont laugh - i dont have the money sunk in to crap i dont really need so i can keep it buried in canning jars in my back yard - BEWARE OF DOG!

    k-meleon is cool, i wish they would port it to linux using fltk or gtk, (preferabily fltk since it is very lightweight), i bet a lot of firefox users and anyone that wanted a simple lightweight browser to be eternally greatful :)

    i timed how long i get out of battery power and how long it takes to full recharge, one hour each, one hour and the alarm says its time to recharge or die, and one hour to charge back up. its an old laptop i bought used to use because my big desktop generates too much heat for summertime use, it makes my office room too hot and the laptop only generates a small fraction of the heat.

    i dont see it often but on rare occasions i find source code that is GNU/GPLed by some clueless hack that was written in a windows machine with the wrong text editor and i open it up and see a crapload of ^M on the end of every line so i rm the whole package and decide i dont want that package afterall

    the issue of this submission is not a question of whether p2p if copywrited works was right or wrong, it is the absurdity of the compensation, $1.920,000 is just too rediculous, i could understand something less than $1,000.00 as being a realistic compensation as the value of the music sales lost were not that much, this judge needs to lose his (or hers) career, disbared for life!

    personally i like using two disks, a small one say about 40 or 80 gigs for my OSs and a second HUGE disk for /home /swap & data storage, i like to keep the OS separate from the personal files & data & storage

    when firefox first started out it was ok, a lightweight alternative to Mozilla/Netscape but feature creep bloated it up that even Seamonkey runs just as good and even better in most cases than firefox so whats the point of firefox anymore, i rather just get seamonkey since it already has a built in email client, but for just a stand alone lightweight browser i been using dillo for a GUI browser and lynx for a console/cli text mode browser, besides it is the text is what i am after anyway, i could care less for plugins and graphical animations which is just kludge anyway that offer no insight & information anyway

    i agree with the original poster that Tomboy & its dependencies are an incredible mess, what happened to the unix philosophy of KISS? well ./Debian/Gnome/Mono/Tomboy can kiss my ass!

    i would rather use a pencil & paper, just think pencil & paper does not require electricity or even a computer, but if i did want to store electronic information i would use somethhing a lot more simpler, vi, or leafpad, these Linux desktops [eg] gnome/kde4 have lost their way, they no longer represent what Linux was supposed to be, fuck em...

    what is a real issue today is the ability of buying a PC either desktop or laptop with an OS other than microsoft, [eg] FreeDOS, BSD, Linux, not giving consumers a choice of OS when buying a PC is the bigger monopolistic crime...
