if there was a gammaray burst pooted in out general direction it surely would be doomsday, there have been mass extinctions in the distant past and it could happen again. have a nice day:D
even better would be to make OSs impervious to viruses & malware, and if the OS does not pass it is not legal to sell, or download or even be run on a networked PC (you hear that microsoft?) your OS would be deemed illegal because it is a vulnerable piece of crap, the only OSs that would pass today would be the BSDs'/Linuxes & Solaris
i am glad this was overturned, anyway if someone was banned from the internet whats to stop a banned individual from getting a laptop and going online via one of the many open wifi access points (which have to be many)
wait until the "new" wears off and people will go back to their old favorites, google, yahoo, askJeevs' & etc... whatever, people are going to bing to see what it is capable of and when they are done they will leave, i am sure the microsofties & msn users will gravitate to bing, but not all...
not going to happen, people are going to critisize software on
occasion, and there are going to be forks, and rejections, for example
slackware discontinued including gnome, Torvalds bad-mouthed it
and later started using gnome again and now dislikes kde4.
i recently got ahold of an old laptop with low specs and i have been trying various browsers, firefox-2.0.0.20, dillo-2.0, lynx, links, and i am afraid that 99.9% of the internet does not care for anything other than the top two or three browsers = IE, mozilla's firefox & seamonkey and opera, yeah it sucks to see decent but older hardware obsoleted like that...
i confess my sin of "knee-jerk" reaction, my bad is also caused by Slashdot having poor filtering before it gets to the front page, maybe if Slashdot would bother to investigate submissions before posting them to front & center this sort of thing wont happen, (unless that is what slashdot wants?)
fdisk the anti-virus i run on it
