    I dont trust either the democrats or republicns as they each have their own brand of skewed horsemuffins to feed the public. I lean just ever so slightly to the left but not so far as to lose perspective like the extremist liberals do, personally I think most all the politicions in D.C. are more interested in money & prestege and their public image than actually doing what is right, I think the U.S. government is corrupted beyond repair and needs a good fdisking & reformating...

    Due to a design flaw in ActionScript 3 socket handling, compiled Flash movies are able to scan for open TCP ports on any host reachable from the host running the SWF, bypassing the Flash Player Security Sandbox Model and without the need to rebind DNS.

    You can see a proof of concept at the site, and it's quite interesting to watch. This happens inside your firewalled network, just by browsing the internet.

    the GNU/GPL goes against microsoft's philosophy too much, i would think microsoft would sooner follow Apple's example and make their own fork of BSD for a base system and build on top of that. the BSD license allows this --not-the-GPL

    communism has several definitions, the government enforced type of communism is more of a totalitarian state definition, i am sure a government enforced communism is only enforced when it is towards the government's advantage like slave labor and taking people's property, (not giving away property)...

    if you are looking to save money on computer go with Linux = Free (both beer & freedom)...

    if you have plenty of cash to spend on a computer go with whatever you want (either Apple's Mac or build a top notch PC and install whatever Linux distro you like best)...

    Apple may be a good alternative to MS-Win but it is not free (no free beer & none of the four freedoms as RMS's definition)...

    obfuscate what identifies what it is when connected to a Cable System, fix it so it looks like an ordinary television, as a cable subscriber i know cable companies can identify what is connected to their systems, TVs, cable modems (mac address) & etc... i don't know exactly how they do this but they do it somehow...

    i know a cheapskate carpenter that is always looking for a bargain. recently he bought a miter saw in a pawnshop that looked brand new but had one fatal flaw it would not accurately cut 45 & 22.5 angles good and when adjusting the saw it had a gear grinding sort of feel in the handle, (i think it fell out of the back of a truck)...

    i tried the JitterBug and one peeve about the JitterBug is you can not add & remove numbers from memory yourself (like a built in phonebook) you have to have Jitterbug do it for you, the jitterbug is a little too dumbed down for my personal taste, it does save a history of dialed calls which is ok, but i rather it at least have a simple menu for adding & removing numbers & clearing history & call logs...

    I recently bought a LCD HDTV that is PC compatible, I am still thinking about what to add to it, I wanted more than a DVD player, I have been thinking of just building a PC with a DVD-RW & mythTV, but this or something like this sure sounds cool...
