    huh? The u.s. has a monopoly or some sort of copywrite on the fountain of knowledge... since when ? They paid for their education, one way or another. This reminds of the way the average american thinks in regards to nuclear weapons. Somehow, someway, America was blessed by the grace of god to unearth the secrets of the Atom... we did it before everybody else.. therefore it must be some god given right to possess vast stores of nuclear armaments.

    These same people sit around all befuddled as to why North Korea has nuclear weapons. And they won't believe you if you mention India had them in 73, Pakistan had an active nuclear program running in the late 70's (most probably had nuclear weapons in the mid 80's, untested till the nineties iirc.)

    This is just a stop-gap measure, it's too little, too late. India already has proven cryogenic rocket boosters. And only just emphasizes this war on terrorism is a load of god damn bullshit.

UDP is planned for this month but he's on vacation/moving. Remember, you didn't pay for any of this so please stop acting like you're the controlling shareholder. And please, nobody is trying to stifle your speech, nobody is stopping you from forking the codebase.. What the hell is wrong with you?

    Actually here's a better idea, why don't you sit down and spend some time writing the last bits of code for the udp network (most of the code is already written for you,) instead of complaining ?

    Please do not encourage people to use I2P right now. Come back in 3 or 4 months (when the network makes the transition to UDP) and I'll be glad to see posts like yours, but at the moment what you're doing is counter-productive. Please give the developers some room to wiggle, I know you're anxious but the network will just crash right now if too many people join.

    Indeed, but not all. I've seen a number of my movies being shared on torrent sites (with nearly thousands of seeders,) although not a whole lot lately (my favourites were forced down in the last great purge.) Am I broke because of this ? Nope. These people are only sharing yesterdays content, tomorrow is another day and there's plenty of young actresses desperate to make it big in Hollywood.

    What makes these 'smart' ID cards so effective is their being computerized. All the info is stored in the black strip.. or chip., I'm not sure what the standard will be. In places like Lebonan, where you can identify a person's political allegience just by looking at their ID.. Or Israel, where ID cards show whether or not you've served in the military (there's a variation of colours..) People owning these new computerized cards won't see those flagrant violations of their privacy, but they'll be there :) Maybe next time you try getting on a plane, or the next time you're pulled over by a cop, or looking for entrance to a government press conference.. You'll can never be sure _why_ you were violated, denied your rights, or singled out .. Very cool.

    Not the address I use here on slashdot but my regular email addy (which has been active for about 4 years) is virtually spam-free.. at least I don't see much of it. My domain is registered through EasyDNS, with the "plus" package you can setup email aliases for your domain.. everything is filtered through their spamhaus/sbl/dsbl/etc blacklists.. then I use thunderbird with junk mail filtering.

    On average I see one spam make it through my junk mail filter in thunderbird. I've set it up for my mom/dad/brother & sisters as well. Now they laugh at the amount of spam their friends get compared to their own, which is comparable to mine.

    I'm a techno-goof with hardly any understanding of networks and stuff.. If i can do it this easily, anybody can.

    I think maybe spam is overrated.. with the right technology in place, it can be defeated. Although indiscriminite blacklisting by Orbs or whoever doesn't really help the situation :(

    Hey, the article say they were treating mice. I've heard plenty of these stories, I lost count years ago. Every month there's some fantastic new scientific development in cancer research, almost always involving mice or rats, or pigs or some animal other than human beings.

    Cancer researchers should keep quiet till they've found a fucking cure. Frederick Banting didn't stir up media attention 20 years before he discovered insulin with crazy stories, "Hey, diabetics, just hold on for another few years.. I'm about to discover insulin. Hold Firm, stay resolute !!" No, He went public when it made a difference, instead of stirring up passion and speculation.

They remind me of these crazy preachers that have been predicting the end of the world for the last 2000 years, "Yo, everybody, pack your bags, sell your posessions, give up your jobs, Jesus is coming back, real soon now !!!" So many people have been suckered by these hopefilled promises, sucks. The Jehovah Witness Watchtower society has exploited their followers several times in the last century, with these same promises... for whatever reason they keep coming back for more.

    Same thing with these "we've cured cancer!" stories.. whatever, no you haven't. You're not close, admit it.. I've been reading about these cures for cancer since the 70's. Go away, come back when you've got proof bitch, otherwise just shut the FUCK UP okay. Oh, You need funding right? Go sell your body fuckface.
