Now they have millions of dollars freed up to give CEO bonuses, right where it should be ! Remember this the next time you see your boss driving his new Ferrari, "Should I really be encouraging the use of open source software, is that such a wise decision?" There are many children suffering right now that depend on the survival propreitory software.
Because they've lost all faith in big corps to do the right thing. Or maybe actually roll-out service to their side of the street when the other side has full service... or maybe they're just pissed the "unlimited plan" the big corp offered actually included a 5 gig/month quote with 70kbit capped upload speed. All for $85/month.
You would? Have you listened to FM radio lately? Morning radio on FM is a cesspool of rancid ass-shit, later in the afternoon it's commercial after commercial with an occasional song thrown in to tease the listener.. when evening comes, it's the same crap britney speers/back street boys songs played over and over.
Even though I like Howard, I personally am going to be getting XM. Why? Because I think the company is better - I do not want to invest in a company that I think is going to tank.
What, huh ? This move will increase their subscriber base, going with Apple is plus-plus-good. And having Howard Stern will only make it that much more attractive..
In a true capitalist society would patents & copyrights even exist ? I don't believe so, they're incompatible with that philosophy. The whole bitch & moan routine by mpaa/riaa/copyright holders/etc sounds like sourgrapes to me.
Well.. this won't mean much but if you're looking for a non-celebrity blog and you're an avid golfer like myself (or just like the sport) check out The Jam-Boy blog.. he's a rookie Caddy working at an undisclosed but very exclusive golf course in Northern Virginia iirc. He's the perfect non-celebrity that carries bags for the rich & conceited... tells some great stories about the assholes he has to deal. It's good light hearted stuff with an inside perspective.
*shrug* I've gotta pimp this one since it's one of my favourites and didn't make that goofy celebrity list:)
850 gigs ? Wow.. nice but how about reliability and longevity? (I'm sure the press release will promise the heaven and sky.) I'm reminded of this by people setting themselves up as guniea pig experiments for laser eye surgery. I'll wait another 10 years before diving into that one too. A lot of theory suggests everything will be okay but I'll let father time be the judge of that.
*laugh* reminds me of my atm card, the pin number is an old gf's birthday.. I've tried hard to forget it but , *please don't remember next time I press those numbers, please!*:)
When you've got a brute-force computer that can guess every possible password you can type in (or will type in), there's not much point to having them, is there?
"will type in"... For a while I used on fairly strong password for all my accounts, everything.. "amy6go23oakfield55" I don't know the math behind brute forcing but I doubt that would be easily tackled by any computer, maybe I'm wrong though. (no, I don't use that anymore and now I use multiple strong passwords, for pretty much everything.)

That they made jodie foster wear that goofy outfit when she travelled through the wormhole.. come on, I'd like to think todays audiences are mature enough to handle a little bit of nudity, seeing her hotly oiled up and sleek body slips through the cosmic threshold shouldn't dismay anyone.
I'm going with her on the next trip, in the raw baby!
Ya, that would be very cool. I used to fall asleep to Patti's voice as a teenager, then adult, then now lol. She's a true Goddess of radio. Ever get a chance to hear the "Worst of the Worst music ever" show she produced, this was a while ago.. great stuff.
Well, ya, that's why I tried to qualify the statement with "supposodly." I guess it wasn't right of me to use the same scare tactics but it does emphasize/exaggerate the point that it's probably not a good idea to go playing around in the sand on these SuperFund sites.
It sounds all too much like an elaborate marketing scheme on their part. The formula is pretty simple. Build a junk product, use gpl'ed code, make sure someone in the oss community noticed you're not handing out the modified source, let them howl for a few months, brand recognition goes through the roof!
There's no such thing as bad press right ? Slashdot & everybody else shouldn't feed them what they want.. keep quiet and have the EFF sue their asses.
Like I said, this is gotta be a junk product they're building. I don't know what the hell it is and have not read the article(s) here on slashdot.
Just a bit north, near Detroit at the River Rouge (extremely industrialized part of michigan) and also one of the home to one of those SuperFund sites, the contamination is so great that a person, without protection, supposodly will get cancer within 20 minutes of exposure.
As a kid, my dad would bring my brother and I down there in the boat and watch the fires. Fires, literraly on the river, they'd just start spontaneously, it almost seems surreal thinking about that experience. It was almost like a weird scene out of mad-max/apolocalpyse now/terminator.
Lucas however, can do myth very, very well. And once Lucas gets around to telling the Myth Of Anakin's Fall, the real story that Episode I and II have been leading to,
Reminds me of the documentary Bill Moyers produced a few years ago about Joseph Campbell. The title of the doc was called "Joseph Campbell and The Power of Myth." Joey wrote a ton of material about mythology and how it shaped mens minds over the course of history. Fascinating guy, But the third or fourth video in this documentary, Bill Moyers travels the the George Lucas darth-vader ranch in California or where it was. Apparently Lucas was a student of Campbell, or least an avid fan of his writing. Lucas spent a good while talking about the inspiration Campbell provided him.
Here's a link to mininova, some people seeding The Power of Myth in audiobook format... not sure if that includes the George Lucas interview though.
oh please, don't be so dramatic. Landing on a carrier is not really that big of a deal, once you've had a little training the simulator, and buddied with another pilot in for the real thing, it's pretty easy. Consider the size of the jet being flown compared to the size of the aircraft carrier. It's small.. real small, hell the deck probably has 40 or 50 sitting on top, that should give you some perspective on the room available for landing. Again not a big deal.

that geoshities link has exceeded it's daily bandwidth allowance...
Here's one that should work, Matildas Nude Soccer photos. Very nice indeed.
hahaha, hey Emmett, still pimping Apple I see. Nice job.. Hasn't Steve J. let you grab that carrot yet?
but I'd much rather see FM radio first.

With the possible exception of NPR.

Well, I saw an episode of Penn & Teller's: Bullshit the other night, so I go online to find it's website and some more info about it..

I played around with MS Flight Simulator for a while, the realism is incredible. I know I could land a jet on an aircraft carrier without a problem.
