It'd be funny if modern computers still came with 1920x1080 (or whatever resolution you have) graph paper you could use to plan out your images, though.

Yes, they're comparing it to two 9800GTXs, which is what a 9800GX2 is: Two 9800GTXs on one board. RTFS indeed. It seems like a case of give and take. The GTX280 is more expensive, but is a single GPU solution, which tends to be more stable. The 9800GX2 is cheaper, runs about as fast, but is a dual GPU unit, so you might have a few more "issues" to deal with in your game playing adventures.

If you look at the controls, though, a lot of them aren't really AJAX, calendar control included. It's not making calls to a webservice via XMLHTTPRequest or any such thing - just extending a textbox or button via client-side scripting.

So, I wouldn't call it an abomination, just a misuse of the term AJAX, which I've noticed isn't all that uncommon out there. Companies have to jump on the AJAX bandwagon, after all. ;)

The other day, I saw a commercial - I think it was for Velveeta. It showed people heating some up in a bowl and eating it with chips. In small print at the bottom, it said 'Bowl must be safe for food.' I just kind of laughed and thought that was a ridiculous warning. This lawsuit makes it clear why it was there. :\

That just seems crazy to me... The people accessing the site pay for their internet access, but that's not good enough - they need to double-charge. Seems akin to charging grandma a toll when relatives came to visit her via a tollway on Thanksgiving. She got some benefit from the tollway too, right?!? Cough it up, you leeching old hag!
