Agreed, this is a mistake on their part. That extra button was great for fps gaming, and document browsing.
Now if the button were say pressure sensitive per front side and back side of the button, that work, i.e. push the front of the button for forward or "mouse4" and the back of the button for backward "mouse5"
The G7 and G5 have the same amount of buttons, one is just cordless... the G7...
So am not quite sure what you are talking about.
However, I do think its a mistake for logitech to get rid of the "mouse5" button, as I know alot of my fellower CS players use the heck out of it.
Half-Life 2 is arguably better then the first, and I think in time opinions will tend to show that while currently fans seem to be torn between the 1st and 2nd.
While in the miniority, games like this will always be welcomed into my home via my debit card, now if only the rest of the industry could make such "worthy" sequels.
I already have cash set aside for valves "Aftermath" Expansion, because valve makes damn good titles, sequels, etc.
Hopefully EA has no pull with their current deal, and just remains on exclusivly as a distributor.

So apparently fox passed on whedon for this new guy, and apparently missed a perfect chance to pick up on whedons current fame, and talants.
Serenity is debuting soon, the firefly based movie. Joss is currently writing Astonishing X-men, one of the best x-men runs since Grant Morrisons new x-men.
But what does fox do, let him get a way... to some 2nd rate DC character, (sales wise, not ability wise). Terrible terrible.
If x3 isnt super great... fox will forever bear the ire of us x fanboys.
As popular as bitTorent has become, it has garned too much attention for many peoples liking.
Private torrent sites... and no im not talking about sign up sites that the public has access too, ala torrentbytes, pirate bay, are becomming the way to go.
Some dedicated releasers, a host, your own forum, walla, your own private members bitTorrent club. It works pretty well, I myself am involved in two such places.
They can continue to push BT further into the corner untill they embrace its ingenuity, but we will still be there in the corners, passing around data, and keeping who ever we want out. =]

Personally I would wait. We have review board coming in from Abit, the AW9D Max http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/products.php?c ategories=1&model=326/ which looks to be a good board that I will be testing out shortly here. Between that and the upcoming Nvidia 590, and ATI's r600 chipsets, if you don't absolutely need a upgrade wait it out a bit longer.
