  1. Proportional Representation on New Hampshire Bill Could Lead To Adoption of Approval Voting · · Score: 1

Why not just go with Proportional Representation? It accurately reflects the wishes of the people. Generic 'liking' does not take into consideration people's preferences of one candidate over another.

I just thought those two sentences needed to be viewed next to each other. Fair point - I'll give you that! Perhaps I should have said "please refrain from "uninformed" sweeping statements like above" - I travel to the USA often and converse daily over the fone and the internet with people there so my obervation IMHO has some basis. I feel the original poster's comment was without substance however. But again fair point on what I wrote before.

They're simply more conservative over there; I don't believe that makes them wrong (or right, for that matter).

My dear man what are you talking about?! I'm from Ireland and you have not been here in a while if that's what ya think!

Also compared to the US (I'm guessing your american - forgive me if your not) I think calling Ireland conservative is comical! FOX NEWS anyone?!

Ireland has come out of a more conservative age and in the past 15 years has improved leaps and bounds regarding this kind of thing. Every now and again there are legislation that is a hangover from more our more conservative past. It doesn't reflect our current mindset, instead it reflects a mindset of the past. So please refrain from sweeping statements like above!

Is it just me or are courts completely unable to fine companies proparly? If someone steals they get jail. If a big company does anything they are told to stop and go home because they are very naughty indeed!

Whoever came up with this scam should be jailed for what they did. They did the same thing what hackers do (i know its crackers - ya know what i mean!) and hackers get jail time so why not the person behind this? Oh wait.... their rich! - I forgot!

Finally you need to fill their bellies to kill their ambition (apologies to Lao Tzu). You need to keep them fed and comfortable so that they don't take action against you.

Gotta disagree with you here. Looking at my own country's history (Ireland), during the times when Ireland was poor and short of food it worked better for Britain. When a population is short on food and basic supplies, they are less likely to worry about ideological issues such as government and are more concerned about surviving. A famous Irish politition (Parnell) recognised this and instead of concentrating on getting home rule for Ireland he first worked on getting the right for Irish people to buy their land. When this right was achieved, the movement for home rule exploded. This movement grew to create a situation where Ireland was a free state approx. 50 years later.

So in suming up - keep 'em poor and they're to busy struggling to bother you!

Then theres the hummmmmm from the laptop too which while faint is still noticeable. Pen and paper is the only way to go for note taking. When people make mistakes on laptops they tend to bang the keys in a frantic fashion and manage to be even more annoying! I applaud her actions as I would ban them too!
