Tell me again why we really need this change. Daylight savings time was fine the way it was, heck if anything get rid of it, would make my life easier. It wont make a positive change to anything, it will only make things worse, with changing VCR tims and so on. And what about automated time systems like rail systems and so on?
I will be attending Penn State University in the fall and amongst all of my computer registration stuff there was something about Napster. It appears that PSU has some deal with them. All PSU students get Napster's Premium Service for free. Not that I will be using it when I get there, I'll probablly just VNC to a computer at home and download my stuff onto that and pick it up on the weekend. But it is still interesting how they got that.
My school uses these as well. There are probablly 6+ in every school in the district (10 schools). They work well for pointing out things in documents while still presenting. Use them with a nice projector and you wont regret it. The teachers love them.
Microsoft may be evil but I do not think they would do something like that. It would be bad for business if found out and I'm sure that it's probably illegal. Then again you could just be joking around, sarcasm is hard to detect on the internet.
Although EB did carry PC games, they were always shoved in the back corner like some unwanted bastard step child. The console market is more mainstream and thats what sells. It's the jocks with the Xboxes driving the market now, not the geeks with the PCs
Exactly what I was going to say. It seems that only the phone companies are up in arms about VoIP. The cable companies dont seem to care much at all. So if the phone companies want to be regressive arses let them, everybody will just switch to cable to get their VoIP and so on.
In my family and among neighbors I'm normally the one who is called to do tech support. 95% of the time the complaint is "Computer is slow" or "Pop-ups all over the place". So I wander on over to their house, do some scans, stop some processes from starting and they are fixed. Normally I will also install Firefox. Then I write them up a nice little schedule of PC maintenance with instructions for each step. Normally they stick to that for about a week or two. But it's a week or two where I don't have to help them. In the end it is up to the end user to get informed and protect themselves. Most do not do this, so they have us. Which is normally good enough.
It is very true that there are way too many Linux distros out there, but staying informed about the top 10 is normally a good idea. Just go to http://www.distrowatch.com/ and check the list. Not that UserLinux is in the top 10, but still a good idea.
Free hats?!?! OMG! OpenSuSE rules! Actually I am rather enthused by it..

If you're playing Counter-Strike you SHOULD be shocked. Many many times.

It's late, cut me a break.
Would be a fun way to freak out the uninformed and techincally challanged.
