Gecko/NGLayout renders the Acid2 test the same (or mostly the same) as when it was first released. Deer Park Beta 1 will most likely not be any better. I don't even know if such patches would be allowed in right now since the developers are focusing on getting Gecko 1.8 branched. I don't thing you'll see the possibility of Firefox improving on the Acid2 test until Gecko 1.9, and then a lot of attention will be on Cairo.
What do you expect when the UI and most extensions are coded in JavaScript and XML while the rest is split into a billion XPCOM peices? Ease of development has taken priority. Or that's what the programmers say at least.
My 2 year-old $1000 Dell runs Firefox, Opera, and (a just-cleaned) Internet Explorer all at the same speed though.
It doesn't say 20 to 30 years longer, it just says that the peltier chips "last between 20 and 30 years". I have no idea why you just randomly inserted a word, but that's exactly what you've done.
Firefox 1.1 will have 'real' updates instead of just downloading an entire installer and running it if I remember correctly.
In any case, it's in the works for some version.
You wouldn't buy a game that you hadn't played the preview.
That's retarded. A lot of great games never had playable demos, and even when a game does have one it can be very difficult to get a hold of it. At least that's how it is on the consoles (PS2, Xbox, etc) and I don't think PC games are doing too much better.
to say such a statement without checking out the competition thuroughly.
Are you crazy? You sure haven't "thuroughly" checked out anything, because otherwise you would know that it's a friggin huge problem.
Find out what modems your (non-techy) friends' Windows-preinstalled computers came with and find out how many are Linux friendly. I'll send you a cookie if it's more than half.
If there is even the slightest chance that the Earth might be changing its climate due to man's actions, we should act NOW.
What if the entire history of man has had an effect on Earth's climate that is less than that of a single volcanic eruption? Should we still divert massive amounts of manpower away from improving human life to undue this relatively negligible change?
That violates the separation of structure from behavior. You should set the onclick value using a method other than by including it in the HTML page. It's not that difficult if the element is labeled well.
with a Dvorak keyboard that wouldn't have happened
I seriously doubt that it could be that great, but it got me interested in it and after reading this page, I decided to give it a shot. Hopefully it will help those slight pains I'm already starting to feel every-now-and-then.
Is there any chance that Dvorak is geeky as Linux? No? Oh well.
Persephone was already given to an asteroid so the discoverers of 2003 UB313 chose to submit a different name. See the Wikipedia article
What?! It costs money?! But information wants to be free!

But DRM is just ever so much funner.

Why did I get modded as flamebait? Everything I said was true.
Plus the linked website's layout really sucks.
And that whole 'loss of quality' thing is so exagerated anyway.

Sounds somewhat similar to XUL. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=2630 28
I didn't know that hell was illegal in Sweden.

BTW, how on earth do you pronounce "Dvorak"?
No, (s)he referred you to a dictionary for the word jackin'.
I'm only 17 and I got it. How old are most people here?
