Does that mean all the replies to the second article that were copied from replies to the first article could be reused again? Let's hear it for a number 4!!!! w00t!!!!!!!! Would that be a quintuplet?

  2. Reality? on The Science of Star Wars · · Score: 1

How is moving from more advanced concepts to more basic ones a realistic view of society? They've reverted to hand-to-hand combat. Using those stupid light sticks is nothing more than glorified sword fighting. Perhaps if their technology becomes even greater, their fighting will regress even further and they'll use Super Dentures to bight each other. Lame.

    Wow! So many abbreviations!

    K5 - Kuro5hin (although /. inserted that anyway)
    info - information
    gov - government

    esp - especially
    Cali - California
    Sec - Section
    inst - institution(s)

Ironic that the post is on the topic of accessibility. :b

    Too bad it's so sloooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...........

Having to go back to the server again and again and again to get tiny amounts of data doesn't sound too nice to me.

Actually, I wouldn't say that they know HTML, at least not just by judging that page. Besides missing the document type, they used syling without declaring what kind of styling it was (missing type="text/css") and used img tags that didn't say where the image was at (missing src="file.gif").

  6. Re:Extortion Opprotunity on AACS Specifications Released · · Score: 2, Insightful

The PlayStation 3 will use Blu-Ray discs, which were developed partially by Sony. It wouldn't make any sense for them to include a costly seperate drive to play the competing format.

I know there's been talk about Blu-Ray disks using AACS, but there hasn't been any confirmation about that yet as far as I know.

Just an FYI for those that might have been confused by the parent poster.

  7. What standards? on Firefox and Open Standards the Way Forward · · Score: 4, Interesting

I've been searching in vain to find exactly what standards Firefox supports (or the gecko rendering engine, or whatever is responsible for it). Is there some mystical list somewhere that will tell me what Firefox does and doesn't support? What about XHTML 1.1? Or full CSS 2.1?
