Years ago, I used to teach a class that included a section on U.S. copyright. After years of trying to make sense of it all to students and giving them the "life of the author and 50 years after the author's death" routine, I finally just threw my hands up after the 1998 Extension and started telling them "If a work was created after 1921, it will probably be under copyright forever."
Thanks, Disney! Isn't it bad enough for you to rape our kids and introduce all the vacuous pop stars to the world? Do you have to screw up our laws too?
If Gozer isn't compensated for his copyright on those Sumerian texts, many librarians will know what it is like to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar, I can tell you!
I actually liked KOTOR 2. It didn't have the cool twist ending of the original, but the gameplay was a lot better. And it didn't take so long to reach your Jedi potential. It did have a lot of bugs, though.
The douchebag behind the counter who looks like he hasn't bathed in a week, smells like bongwater, and always feels the need to smugly tell me how *HE* only plays his FPS's with a keyboard and mouse (when I'm trying to buy a console FPS).
MS paid good money for that DLC (did you think it didn't cost money to produce it?). If Sony wants it for the PS3, let them pony up their share (or let Bethesda charge a lot more for the Ps3 version than for the 360 version). Until then, they have no reason to bitch. It's not Bethesda's fault that Sony are a bunch of cheapasses, or that the PS3 doesn't have the attach rate of the 360. MS has more players, MS gave them the money--wtf did you EXPECT them to do?
There will come a day (not too far off), when all the big torrent sites will be blocked by every major broadband provider in the U.S. and E.U. (along with any proxy list or other site designed to help circumvent the block).
That's the first thing that hit me when I saw this article: BLACKMAIL in bold letters. I always suspected that at least a handfull of neocons (Chenney, Wolfowitz, Gonzales and that ilk) were using the warrantless wiretap program from political ends (to get dirt on Democracts and other opposition leaders). This seems to be pretty strong evidence that it went on in at least one case. Which leads, of course, to the next question, how many MORE Jane Harman's are there out there (that the Bush-era NSA spied on and/or attempted to blackmail with any of the dirt they found)? And what, if anything, is Obama planning to do to stop this in the future?
This is seriously going to hurt a lot of online retailers. State politicians who are loathe to raise income and property taxes (lest they be called a L I B E R A L !!) are going to take it out on a lot of still-nascent online businesses.
That WAS NOT flamebait. "Flambait" is not synonymous with "My messianic hero turned out to just be a regular politician."
Well, there goes that reputation for neutrality.
If you're a PC gamer who wants to avoid DRM, the future is probably not very bright for you. :-(

By the criteria they used in that study, probably 80% of the world's males are "pathologically addicted" to watching football/soccer too.
Apple has hinted that there will only be one button on the entire computer and the case will glow.
Obviously he's never seen me after I've been confronted with even the slightest threat.

Why you gotta run down 50 Cent?
By the time they're down to "Fallout: Des Moines" it will probably be about time to just let it go.
That sounds like Browncoat talk.
It was SUPER radiation.

Yeah--good luck with polishing THAT turd, China.
Unbeknown to you, she was actually evil. Her toaster was innocent.

And how long before all the proxy lists are blocked too?

It can withstand the weather in space?
Usually Louisiana and Alabama are on the cutting edge of scientific advancement.
My favorite was Jeff Goldblum giving the aliens a virus from his Apple laptop in "Independence Day." Good thing aliens use Macs!
They have in general set the development of computer science back about 15 years.
I'll take "Ridiculous Hyperbole" for $1000, Alex.
