I'm pretty sure that doesn't (and, in fact, couldn't) apply to resale. MS licenses Windows to European computer companies, but that does not give them the right to then tell those companies who they can and can't sell their computers to. In fact, considering how much hot water MS is ALREADY in with the EU over monopolistic practices, that kind of heavy handedness would almost certainly result in huge fines for them if they even tried.

Non-American companies are free to sell their computers to whoever they damn well please. Not every country still holds onto an ancient Cold War-era grudge against a guy who refused to kneel down to the mighty U.S. and let himself be assassinated.

Most non-smart people would cynically assume that their ISP was just falling into line because they're too scared of the government to say "no", and are merely offering a pathetic excuse for doing so by trying to pretend that they're not really caving in like a bunch of prison bitches.

You seem like a really smart guy to me, in how you saw through to your ISP's honesty. In fact, I am looking to recruit some really smart guys and offer them a unique real estate opportunity, available only to a select few particularly bright guys like yourself. Now some upfront investment may be required, but a guy as smart as you knows you have to spend money to make money. Now, I've got guys lining up around the block to take part, so if your interested, you'll need to respond quickly or you'll lose your chance. Just give me your bank account information and we can get started making you some big money!

And it didn't help that Doom 3 also aped its predecessors with scripted enemy appearances and an AI which consisted entirely of "run toward the player and attack."

No, he's just asking for fairness. If MS can't bundle IE, then it's only fair to extend that to all the other apps they bundle (which presumably also give them an advantage over competitors). And the same thing should also go for Ubuntu and Apple, both of which also bundle a specific browser and many apps with their OS's too. The hypocrisy that surrounds this whole debate, and the level of anti-MS vitriol spewed forth anytime someone brings up the fact that they bundle what has become a basic app (a simple web browser) with their OS is absolutely ludicrous. This may have been a relevant debate back in the 90's (before the web became so ubiquitous), but no one in their right mind would release an OS anymore WITHOUT a web browser. Singling out MS and asking them to do that is unfair harassment.
