No, that is not how plasma displays work. Plasma displays are basically just millions of tiny flourescent lights. They are adressed through two layers of strip electrodes, where the pixel is located where the strips intersect and is stimulated into emmision. Most importantly, plasma screens do not use anything like phosphors, where a thin CRT must use them.
Of COURSE NOT, and no one but you has been stupid enough to suggest it will! Most people are not complete idiots, and anyone seriously proposing to track the kind of people your talking about would be laughed out of the room. This is gonna be used on truly despicable men who rape and murder young girls! And I think its a great idea. In fact, the GPS unit should also have the ability to shock the SOB if they leave a prescibed area. This is one of the single most abhorrent crime in our society.
I don't know if you are aware of all the many other worth distributed computing efforts that exist. Two of the best are Folding@home and World Community Grid Human Proteome Project. Hers a good website: http://distributedcomputing.info/updates.html
Just wait for the thin CRT technology to come out. It uses millions of tiny electron guns instead of one, and if it fulfills its promise it will destroy plasma and LCD.
Equals FUN! Seriously I always wanted to try this ever since I saw the omnidirectional treadmill and realized that it would be perfect as the floor of a cave system. The person's distance from each wall would be very accuratly monitored and when you start to walk or run in a direction, the treadmill starts to move in the exact opposite direction to keep you in place while the scenery moves around you would be an awsome simulation. Add in a fake rifle and handgun and you have the perfect FPS environemnt. (The omnidirectional treadmill I'm referring to is a very clever design with two belts at 90 degrees to each other. The bottom one is a normal belt but the top one is actually composed of small rollers that roll in the same orientation as the lower belt. Thus the top belt can be moving in on direction and the rollers in another and its a simple vector addition to get any direction needed. Very clever design.)
I can't imagine in what circumstances, except the one in the movie, where it would be appropriate to quote that line. Do they also like to quote the "Ass to ass!" line from Requiem for a Dream?
Actually if I could pick one and only one comic to be made into a movie it would be "The Killing Joke" where Joker shoots Batgirl in the spine, paralyzing her. Very intense story, and really shows what a psychopath the Joker is.
No, XGA is way too low for a 12" screen. I have the M200 and the screen is really awsome. All one has to do is change the DPI settings to enlarge the fonts. I know when I change the res to XGA on the M200 I can't stand it. The high DPI works really well for the pen aspect of it, It makes handwriting look really good.
Cartoon Network has a new starwars CGI film coming out called Revenge of the Brick. Its all lego based and seems very surreal. I think Lego gave Lucas a ton of money for this to be made. Just wondering if anyone else has heard of it?
If you don't agree 100% with their position you get branded with all sorts of horrible lables, cheifly among them 'bigot' or 'racist'. Of course the Right does it too, only they prefer 'traitor'.
Society links them in the phrase "Sex and Violence". Both are controversial political issues, with liberals being generaly pro-porn and anti-gun and conservatives being the latter. Ergo, a window into the politics of Google.Your post is an excellent example of the liberal viewpoint, while the conservative viewpoint would be something like "Porn perpetuates abusive treatment of women and promotes sexual crimes and is immoral (bad), while Guns are a fundamental protector of our constitutional freedoms (good)." Besides, what percentage of all guns are actually used to kill people? They have plenty of recreational use.
Yes, Google has plenty of porn adds, but oddly enough they will NOT accept any adds for guns at all. Very strange. Maybe an insight into the founder's politics.
Dell and thier ilk exploit the general population's ignorance of graphics cards by always using a really slow one even in what are supposed to be high end machines.
Engineering problems notwithstanding, couldn't a really deep hole be used as a power source? I mean geothermal is used anywhere its practical. This could be used anywhere. Just dig a deep enough hole or two and pump water down them and use the steam to turn turbines. Unless the steam would condense before reaching the surface.
AC to DC switching power supplies are generally 80 to 90 percent efficient. I don't think it would be hard to get DC transmission more efficient than that.
Wow, are you a fucking stupid troll. You like milk, ice cream, choclolate, yougurt? Where do you think all that milk comes from? Dairy farmers do more in a half hour than you do all week.
Maybe we need them because we need to do so much outside work in the winter instead of cowering from the cold. Nothing like a day on the farm when its minus 15 F. (As it was where I worked last winter)
I see a HUGE marketing oppurtunity here. Those things are great. They get to about 120 to 130 F for about 7 hours. My mom had here thyroid removed and she goes through hundreds.

The article said that it was for ease of updates.

Strange, WCG is a very well behaving program for me, and only uses 30 megs of RAM to boot.
Are you really that fucking stupid? The article specifically says that the law only applies to people who molest children 11 or younger.

And of course in your twisted way of thinking all that would be a GOOD thing!

You sir are a dirty, dirty troll.

All of those programs already have updates that let them work.
Maybe we need them because we need to do so much outside work in the winter instead of cowering from the cold. Nothing like a day on the farm when its minus 15 F. (As it was where I worked last winter)

You must not live in a state with cold winters. If you did, you WOULD have seen them.
