    Yes but.... if he broke into her home, stole physical photos, and released them.... most people would easily consider it as much, if not more, of a violation.... but would he ever face nearly the jail time for that as he did for this? I doubt it strongly.

    10 years is a fucking joke. Bankers destroyed the world economy and no one, except Iceland, charged any of them. There is no justice.

    I wrote an app in Perl once. It was the only language that I could get to reliably connect to MSSQL from Linux.

    It was fun to write, but I go back and look at the code now and it looks like Greek.

    On the upside it's been running for over 5 years and having no problems at all.

    At least he won't cut your throat.

    And the government won't either. It's a struggle keeping church and state separate, but worth it. For the most part the west has gotten rid of ridiculous blasphemy laws.

    It should be pretty obvious to anybody not completely humor-impaired, that Windows phones don't *actually* require a reboot to accept a call or update position. I guess that counts you out, though.

    Call me impaired then, it sounded legit to me.

    Thanks. I will definitely try that. I have a buddy who has some nice zippy pepper plants, I'm sure I could get something to start with. Yeah, that would be a very nice addition.
    My mother shows up once a year with a bushel of awesome tomatoes from a friends farm and I can them. I'd probably try cherry tomatoes in the window, but I hear you.

    I grow herbs in my living room window.

    Rosemary, basil, chives, oregano, sage, thyme. They are very happy there in a nice looking scaffold sitting in front of the window.

    I may grow vegetables in the future, I'll practice on herbs in the mean time.

    But the reason Palm wasn't the end of the PC era is the same as the reason The Tablet (you seem to like apple) wont be either. They are toys.

    The Palm wasn't interfaced to a powerful network of apps and data. Today's tablet is an interface to a much more powerful set of tools.

    A tablet will never be enough for me, but it will suffice for most people. I like using tablets to interface to my own systems.

    I think you are wrong.

    there are quite a few free AVs that are superior to Norton and McAffee. One even comes from MS.

    I have a free Symantec product installed on my Windows box. All it does is pop up and tell me I'm unprotected and need to send them money to get real protection.

    The cheaper way is to not browse the internet from a Windows box.

    I browse from a Linux box using free software and don't have to pay companies like Symantec to protect me.

    I could uninstall that app, since it does nothing but advertise for Symantec, but I kind of like being reminded that all you people that call Linux Garbage have to pay money to keep viruses off of your infinitely superior operating system.

    the GPL/Linux camp have been busy implementing stuff from other OS's or even concepts that were old already in the 80's(Fair Scheduling etc) yet claiming innovation.

    Linux from the manufacturer has never been about the technical difficulty of shipping a pre-installed Linux box. It's always been about the unwillingness to support two different operating systems and, above all, the reluctance to offend Microsoft for an uncertain and probably small payoff.

    Historically your statement is bang on. Microsoft has always run roughshod over it's partners and competition alike. Maybe it's getting too arrogant...

    You are right, opening Microsoft proprietary documents on other systems is a pain. Luckily, in the world of grown-ups, that's usually not a problem. I've never, in my entire working career, sent an Office document to somebody and had them not be able to easily use it. I would not do business with a fanatic that refused to buy Office.

    Your statement illustrates the effectiveness of the strategy. To you, anyone who avoids using office isn't just an advocate of open systems, he's a fanatic.

    I've been to Sydney a couple times and I find the cab drivers there to be top notch!
    Having a camera in the car will certainly cramp their style.
