"No one has ever been fired for choosing Microsoft...."
I've heard this repeated over and over again in throughout numerous industries, over the course of my 20 or so odd years involved with technology.
I think this age old saying is about to go the way of the dinosaurs.
I moved to ubuntu and the only thing i miss is steam games.... (sure i can run them under wine, but it just doesnt feel right).
Valve need to take notes from some more reecent games like COD4 or et:qw and get moving on releaseing a real linux client...
I used to buy games on steam, but since booting windows to the curb i havent bought a single one... (nor have i completed any of your surveys)
Linux on the desktop has been talked about for years.. the only thing i see missing from linux is gaming... and that does seem to be changing now, although slowly.
Man I would love to get 4-5 weeks to code and test. Instead of the 4-5 hours i get now to push out critical patches.
so my question is.... Are you hiring??? And which planet do you work on?
I hate the slow speed im gonna get from dsl, but slow is better than not working. I wonder why it only seems google is affected?? Could this be comcast trying to extort $$$ from google???
All these years i figured yahoo and google search results must be close. Having comcast blocking google, opened my eyes to just how bad results from yahoo are. I need my google... i needz it NOW!!!!!
HISTORY of the controler.. no mention of atari 2600/5200. no mention of colecovision, no mention of the COUNTLESS atari controler knock offs used on apple and c64... But I DO see 3 differnt nintendo controlers.
Maybe if your 15 year old kid, this MAY cover your history... but for us older folks it doesnt even come close. We need more NEWS for NERDS, and LESS NEWS for kids.

Talk about news you CANT use... Basically slashdot is saying you missed your chance to see it. Maybe they dont have any one working over the weekend, to post these stories in a timely manner.

seems this is only allowed on MAC hardware.... Mr. Jobs. please stop tieing your software to your hardware.
