opossums are omnivores and will eat most anything. From garbage can contents, to road kill, to pretty much anything they can get their paws on.
This does not qualify them as predatory carnivores. They are more opportunistic in what they eat from day to day. Bugs, frogs, carrion, apple cores, etc...
College text book training is nothing compared to real world experience. Learn what you need to know to ultimately go our on your own and do your own thing. A programming job will ease you into the commercial field if that is your desire. Best part, you will get paid to polish your skills.
I learned C & C++ many years ago. Don't use C at all, but C++ is good to know if App development in QT rings your bell.
I run my own business, not in programming. But I have the ability to build my own management apps in QT which gives me the geek jollies and custom apps for my use to boot.
Sure, but do you want one in your backyard? How about what to do with the waste? You are aware of the half life time period problems to storing spent nuclear fuel? Do you plan to be the one to re-encase the the waste once the concrete turns to powder in 10,000 years?
Nuclear is an irresponsible solution for a short term problem. You're better off throwing money into finding a solution to viable fusion power generation for long term energy needs, but for the short term and for those living in areas not suitable for a nuclear reactor, solar and/or wind are reasonable solutions.
Your cost per KWH is bullshit considering the billions required to build the plant, the infrastructure to distribute the power to new areas not yet served, the final storage and management of the spent fuel for the next 25,000 years, and a plethora of other factors not even considered. You're just pulling numbers out of your ass with nuclear as a solution.
This project has been done before but this one is a good read for those that have the skills, time & patience. http://www.instructables.com/id/Build_a_60_Watt_Solar_Panel/
It can be much cheaper to build this panel yourself over buying one from a regular solar panel manufacturer as you will not be paying them for the labor or markup on materials. This noted, it will also take quite a bit of your time to put one together. But the flip side is that you can then brag about this accomplishment and the relative free energy you will then have.
Humorous, clever, but certainly not for the meek. One should probably have balls of steel before attempting such an interlude.
I suppose the afore mentioned procedure also should not be attempted by anyone unless you name is Anonymous Coward and then by all means have at it, considering all AC's are professional Hershey-highway-fudge-packers.
Please keep us informed on how it went for you. Did you have to stuff a whole toilet paper roll up your ass afterward to stop the bleeding?
Most users don't use/need all the additional bloated crap packaged in Office. Most just require a good word processor and spreadsheet. Maybe a data base. OOo fits this bill very well.
Me, I'm a contractor, and OOo Writer is perfect for contract documents. Calc handles statements, invoices, payroll and calculation of payroll taxes, bidding calculations, and most anything else. So for most, which option is a wise choice? Cough up hundreds of $$$ for Office, or use OOo which comes standard with most all Linux distributions. This is a no brainer.
But of course life is not this easy for all, and if you're one of the few that needs certain other features found only in Office and have no other alternatives, then you're pwned.
Any country, like China, that can put a satellite into orbit, can shoot this thing down.
Sounds to me like the same imbecile that once said: "They will greet us as liberators and throw flowers at our feet" came up with this great idea that a spy balloon floating at 65,000 ft cannot be shot down.
Yep, same here. Tried F10, PC-BSD 7.0.1, & Mandriva 2009, all with KDE 4.1 and noticed they all had subtle differences but all were hideously slow and squirrelly as hell. KDE4.2 is being promoted as equal in functionality to 3.5.10 so may be interesting to see when it makes it into a distro... Ubuntu 9.04?
Unfortunately I find Ubuntu is too unstable for my needs so still sticking to Lenny w/ KDE 3.5.10 for the foreseeable future.
Yep, fox and other networks do really stupid shit such as cancel good shows and continue running garbage such as Fear Factor and American Idiot.
My wife and I enjoyed viewing the Dresden Files and Moonlight. I wasn't hip to Firefly until after it was canceled, but think it was better than most of the garbage of the airwaves that continues to run for what seems like decades.
Just the other day I was walking through a job site cafeteria and observing individuals viewing repeats of some 10 season long retarded sitcom on fox. The jokes weren't funny, and the canned laughter sounded stupid. Those doing the viewing looked like zombies focused on the green slime coming from the screen. I had the thought that the producers of most shows like this must think the viewing population are morons needing to be shown, by canned laughter, what constitutes entertainment.
If it weren't for the DVR I would sell the flat screen and get a life. Validation of the prose: "Watching TV is the same as giving up."
All things are relative. Sit down your 90 year old aunt Tillie in front of your windoz PC and request her to check your email. In her view you may as well be speaking chinese.
Linux users are just windoz users that have learned another way of doing daily computing tasks. Nothing magical about it. Learning any version of windoz, for a newbie, requires reading a book or web page detailing the task at hand. Same thing for learning Linux except that there is an enormous community out there that are very helpful. There are piles of books on this subject at your favorite book store , or just join a forum and ask how to update all the software on your new Debian Lenny or Ubuntu Scrawny Salamander install: #apt-get update
#apt-get upgrade
If you can pass a driving test, you can do this. Hell, what takes 2 minutes of your time on Linux will take you 2 weeks on windoz and cost you $1000 to upgrade all the software on your system. I consider that a no brainer.
I dumped M$ operating systems years ago due to this same reason, among others. Many windoz programs are wired to "call home" with your personal data. Even the Windows OS phones home when you are not looking, or at least is designed to. I circumvent this by either locking my firewall or unplugging the cat5 connection when running windoz, and doing all my internet work from within Linux. This programmed-in behavior might be benign, but I still don't trust the corporate mentality to design products this way.
Although Linux is not the silver bullet of perfect safety and security, it is light years ahead of the M$ software solution in this regard. I am not a complete Linux fanboy, but believe boycotting M$ is the right choice for those that believe that computing should equal freedom and not being pwned by the dark corporate overlords.
The Mac, BSD, Linux all offer an alternative to M$ lock-in. I run Debian Lenny as a GUI desktop full time, it's every bit as good as XP. Have also been working on a FreeBSD install, but after 3 weekends, still don't have a working desktop. It looks promising but a newbie would have given up after an hour.
I'm 53 and my physician makes a regular practice of PSA tests for men my age, actually I started having them @ 50. Also just had my first colonoscopy recently and good thing as I had one tumor removed that was pre-cancer.
This is rule of thumb, and Dr. Merenstein should have known this.
I'm not sure how it works but I believe you can make donations to them (tax deductible?) specifically for the purpose of defending OSS developers against lawsuit from litigious douche bag companies such as M$, SCO, and various other patent trolls.
"And in Florida we have Alligators and American Crocodiles."
Well I'll be dipped in shit. I guess it's true "you learn something new every day, if you're not careful". I didn't know that.
"You can see both in some areas of South Florida around the nuke plants." Now this sound like a good script for a SciFi movie. CrockZilla
Not meaning to sound anal retentive, but Crocodiles are usually found in rivers such as the Nile, in Egypt. I believe that Alligators are what you have in Florida.
There is a huge size difference, among other things, in the two species.

Depending upon your perspective of what defines morality this could also mean 1. US congressional members that look like TV evangelists that test how many prostitutes they can bang on a quick road trip across state lines. 3. Heck, Senator Stephen Conroy might even be one of these just waiting for his moment to make the headlines.
This isn't a zealot issue here, your troll post was inflammatory and stupid. Open file formats are light years ahead of what comes out of Redmond, and much safer. FAT & FAT32 suffer severe fragmentation and data loss. Most open formats are journaled and self healing.

Misinformation from the radical nuclear lobby group is pretty common. They profit from promoting their cause.
There fixed that for you

But, but, but
Why the hell use the FAT file system with a Linux device?
if(OS == Linux) {then fs()= ext3; else break;}
I have a better idea
Let M$ build a browser that is W3C compliant.
Then all the webmasters out there can make their sites W3C compliant.
Now, see how easy that was?
Complying with standards, what a concept
