Just two words to save the mouse: Mouse Gestures. The author tells us how limited mouse is in terms "muscle memory", yet he doesn't know that mouse isn't only for clicking. Mouse gestures can, and are performed automatically from muscle memory. I've learned a copule for Opera, and then I had to LEARN to NOT APPLY mouse gesture (down-right) to close Explorer windows.

Why LaTeX?! Anyone who ever used LaTeX extensively would find your question insane. The brief answers is - because it is much more convinient, powerful, user-friendly; because it is takes much less time to LaTeX a document than to type it in Word; because Word was never meant to be a typestting/publishing tool, and LaTeX was... Well, I'm not saying that you shouldn't fight for privacy, nor do I imply that it SHOULD be given up. It's just that it was already given away. It's gone - it's the echo of privacy you are clinging to. You can only hope for "security by obscurity" - that 'they' won't be able to cope with the mere amount of data they are able to collect. My idea was that privacy is something that is 'not quite here' at the moment, so there's nothing to 'protect' anymore; we are to fight a battle to gain something that we don't really have.

I guess this thread is going to become full of posts in the spirit of "they got what they deserved", as if this was an anti-piracy measure. Of course, piracy of IP is only legitimate when commited within USA, otherwise it is "OMG commies are stealig our moneyz". This was an effing software bug, which casued trouble to everyone, legitimate users too, and I don't see how piracy talk could be relevant. As a side note, having recovery CD's does not have to do anything with piracy. If you pirate Windows, you have all the CD's you need.
