    Actually he is asking for them to provide information on the method that perform this action. Because it might be implemented in a way that IS illegal.

    Part of his job is to sniff out organizations or businesses that appear fishy. Then to request information in regards to it or subpoena it if they refuse and its fishy enough.

    They do the same thing all the time to the phone companies when they hear of a practice that does not seem on the level.

    seems pretty simple to me.. make a phone that can use both 3g frequencies and supports both GSM and CDMA.

    I work for a company that ended up doing that!! We tried having a spam filter internal however after we looked at the cost of spam (appliance, internet usage, employees) we switched to an external group. All of our emails now go though there system removing the spam from whats sent to our email server.

    Between that and blocking facebook and myspace we were were able to make due with the single T1.

    He was one of the owners of MySQL before they sold it to sun. He has been having a hissy fit about Oracle buying Sun and how they should be force to release all of MySQL under the gpl (aka documentation and such)

    The big theory is that he wants to get what he sold for free and create another company from it.

    A good deal of people believe that if he has such an issue he would have made an offer to buy it back.

    $5,000 a year? You have no clue about the educational system in the states. I pay at least $4k a semester at a state school.

    They forget that the students already are paying there share. If they live on campous then it means locals are employed for the facilities. If they rent an apartment they are paying property tax via rent. Not to mention they also buy from the local stores. Adding a tax like this no matter how much or little is wrong.

    What are they going to do next? Tax preschool?

    We have limitations to the level of misleading that is allowed. Otherwise they would sell fully unlimited packages, 100% coverage world wide ect when what they really meant was 400minutes and only these 3 states.

    This might be stupid but why doesnt the MPAA just have a special device created for viewing ealry released content. Like a tv with a built in computer that would connect securely across the internet to a streaming source.

    This way they get around the fcc and they can fallow the iphone as being an expensive device that they user paid for but doesnt "own"

    last i checked they also has some highly negative reviews.

    some filter because they need to hide the truth about a product, others filter because of poor grammar or inappropriate things said in the review that could upset younger or older customers.

    i agree with you however it would be nice if there was a easy mode where you do the search for firefox and you dont see 20 packages related to firefox but just the primary package. then have it ask would you like to add support for xyz.

    I use synaptic when ever in linux and i always hate digging though the results.

    Not saying they should be forced to support. Its the fact that they purposely sealed up there software after the fact to prevent the device from working. They saw a company with a competing device that was hooking into itunes so they invested resources to lock them out.

    because palm and apple have been going back and forth a few cycles. Apple patches how palm is hooking in. palm patches to allow its device to work with it again. Apple then patches to validate the vendor id. Palm with no other choice if they want it to work with itunes patches there vendor id to apples.

    how about because they purposely locked down itunes so that the only way another device can sync with it now is to pretend to be it. Dont forget apple recently tried to make a deal with palm in regards to the illegal practice of not hiring each others employees.

    Palm should not have violated the USB-IF however its anti competitive to alter your program to purposefully lock out your competitor. That is what Palm wold be filing a complaint with the US gov about.

    then you forget that there store is so heavily used. Of the top of my head I cant even think of any other music store but itunes. This tells me that the average person is probably in the same place. giving them a virtual market over the music store. They only want people using the ipod with there music store because they need to recoup part the costs of making those loss leader ipods. if they sit on a shelf they make 0% back

    you forget the revenue they make from all of those people employed in there state. If they go though with what there pulling whats to stop microsoft form moving there developers to a new state? Technically how they have things set up the employees handling the licenses are not in Washington so they are not using Washington resources. Last i checked this is not the time to chase your largest employer out of the state.

    this might be completely stupid but.... why not build the anti cheap system into the game instead of installing a global rootkit that can impact the performance of a computer while the game is not in use.

    or maybe these mmorpgs are relying to much on your cpu. Only way one should be able to cheap in a well built game is a bot. Bots can often be detected based on how they act and the amount of time they are logged on. So you can also catch bots if your smart enough with statistics

    Its not off topic for those of us reading who have skype paid services. I myself would like to have a backup ready as I see this either lasting years or skype just being shut down.

    I dont care about the chat portion of the system however the ability to call internet users, land lines, have 5 way phone calls(easier then figuring out how to do it on the physical phone) and maybe the ability to port my skype number in...

    If anyone knows anything share please!!
