Neat applet. I buy that the Dvorak layout more evenly distributes keys over the hands and fingers, however, this is equivalent to comparing the Opteron completing 5 fp ops/clock to the P4 completing 4 (numbers made up). The only real benchmark for a processor is the time it takes for a program to run, and the same holds true with keyboard layouts (WPM). (I'm happy with QWERTY and have no interst in switching, so please don't try to convert me)
If you deal with atomic hydrogen and oxygen on a regular basis, and you're not in a industry that uses high tech chemistry, I suggest you quickly write a will.
Why are you even posting about the legality of Sealand, reread my posts, all the info I gave is about Sealand being "invaded".
>How about a source that does not allow anyone to fill in whatever 'facts' they might have invented there on the spot? Ok, where's a link/ISBN/etc to this source that you have?
False analogy. New Line Cinema is not paying PJ his full 20% of the revenue. It would be analogous to the MPAA situation if LoTR flopped and PJ's contract was 2 million and X% of the profits, but since it took a loss, he only gets 2 million.
>I know several Taiwanese who would take umbrage and your insinuation that the Japanese created their foundries. It's as if you think all other countries in the Orient are subservient to Japan...
insinuation
n 1: an indirect (and usually malicious) implication [syn: innuendo] 2: the act of gaining acceptance or affection for yourself by persuasive and subtle blandishments; "she refused to use insinuation in order to gain favor" [syn: ingratiation] He said Japanese money built the factories. It did.
subservient
1. Subordinate in capacity or function.
2. Obsequious; servile.
3. Useful as a means or an instrument; serving to promote an end So it would seem that, by defn 3, Taiwan is subservient to Japan.
If those Taiwanese you know would get pissed about facts concerning foreign companies in Taiwan, better not tell them their govt was founded by corrupt Nationalists.
Cia.gov doesn't include Sealand, and nor do most major reputable sources, so wiki seems to be the best source left, ie the authority *on this matter*. Unless you have info I do not.
I never said anything about whether Sealand is a real country, I only quoted wiki. The GP made it seem like he was screwed if he shot at the authorities. He shot at the Royal Navy attempting to evict him, and was summoned to a court appearance. If you have any better source of info about Sealand, let's hear it.
If you're gonna use Mumia, have the decency to give the wiki link. It's hardly as clearcut as his supporters or detractors make it seem, probably caused by subversion by from his supporters and poor police work.
But after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship...Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. -Hermann Goering
Oh I totally agree waste disposal is a nontrival issue, I didn't mean to make it sound like throwing out the week's garbage. The only reasons I've seen for the continual stalling of plans like Yucca or deep sea subduction are politics and fear, which are incredibly annoying reasons to stall important science/engineering projects.
We just dug up the radioactive ore and concentrated it, it's actually less radioactive then when we found it in nature. I'm sadly amused by the irony of Marie Curie's quote "Nothing in life is to be feared. It is only to be understood." The radioactivity boogeyman, it seems, will always doom nuclear, while coal in actuality releases more radioactive material into the air.
The reason nuclear power is better than solar/wind/geothermal is because we have extremely good designs (CANDU) and a nuclear plant will pump out 1.21 GW no matter what the weather or location.

Dude, Apple's gonna be screwed when the guy who invented eSophagus finds out he got ripped off, I hear he's a pretty vengeful guy. I hear he's even more tempermental than Jobs.
Cisalpino is the rail service between Germany-Switzerland-Italy. The timetable for the trains is here. It's more like a 3 hour trip, since there is no express.
Might wanna take your own advice about consulting a map, or more specifically, a timetable. You end up looking like a complete retard when you're arrogant and insulting about something which you're completely wrong about.
I agree that you have no place "needing" a car if you live in Chicago/NY/Boston. However, the suburbs/small towns were designed by the most retarded urban planner in existance. For example, in Champaign Urbana the 2N red is a 3/4 mile ride from campus to the movies, and it takes 30 minutes instead of 10 minutes by car, whereas in Chicago, from UIC to the AMC river east theatre (about 3/4 miles) is about equivalent in time, and much better considering traffic and parking.

Ah..., I see. I agree that automating something can at times be a valid patent, as your example with Ford and Watt.
Don't you see, that's the genius of it! Played forward, it's ordinary Bono and such. But backwards...
Did Henry Ford or James Watt patent their ideas, which, even today, are far more innovative than one-click or customer history?

Check wiki before posting. On September 2, 1967, the fort was occupied by Paddy Roy Bates, a British subject and pirate radio broadcaster, who ejected a competing group of pirate broadcasters and claimed it as his own. At that time, the United Kingdom claimed territorial waters of three nautical miles (5.6 km) from its coast, and therefore Roughs Tower was located in international waters, outside the territorial jurisdiction of any state. After taking legal advice, Bates declared the fortress to be an independent state, named it Sealand, and declared himself and his wife, Joan Bates, to be its sovereign rulers. In 1968, Michael Bates was summoned to court as a result of an incident during which shots were fired at a British navy vessel in the vicinity of Sealand. According to some reports the vessel's occupants were intending to evict Bates from the fortress, while others state that they were simply attempting to repair a nearby navigation buoy. In delivering its decision on November 25, 1968, the court stated that because the incident occurred outside British territorial waters, the court possessed no jurisdiction to rule on the matter.
Mu covers your answers and all possible ones like it. According to various Discordians and Douglas Hofstadter the correct answer is usually "mu", a Japanese word alleged to mean "Your question cannot be answered because it depends on incorrect assumptions"

Proof once again that the Republican Party is the clear leader in forward thinking.

Oh that's gonna be *real* useful.
Philip K Dick already covered these sorts of issues in his short story "The post-Persons".

The Switzerland-Italy-Germany rail service is Cisalpino. While the minimum distance between Germany and Italy thru Switzerland may be 200 km, that's not a choice offered. Furthermore, some sample travel times: Milan - Zurich: 3 hours, 38 minutes, Milan - Basel: 4 hours, 26 minutes, even when halved, are more than double 45 minutes. High-speed rail is public transport by rail at a speed over 200 km/h (125 mph). Typically high-speed trains travel at top service speeds of between 250 km/h (150 mph) to 300 km/h (180 mph). So, your errors would be: assuming that it'll be going at an average of 300km/h, neglecting the fact that there is no express, and an ad homiem attack on Americans. Since you didn't know about Cisalpino, all evidence points to you just making your friend's commute up unless you can provide a link to a timetable.
How's it feel to get schooled by an oh so ignorant American?
