As you can see these greedy f***s that own US companies can give a f*** about us or the security of our country. Not to mention that its going hurt many businesses and employees of businesses, as if the economy isn't messed up enough already. I hope they crash and burn just like SCO.
I moral of the story kids: If your compnay sucks, don't pull an SCO to make money, because you will loose, everyone will hate you, and your name will become "*something edited by staff members*"

I know this is a fake computer, but these are speacs close to those that Bill himself expects computers to reach in 2 years. He also said the OS will waste, I mean take advantage of the newer and faster CPUs and additional RAM. Then again a 3 Ghz CPU with 2 Gigs of RAM is the minimum requirement, Vista will horde I mean require more resources to actually do something. Years later of course Windows 2095 will require a mere 320TB and recommend 640 TB for better performance, because M$ will never find any use for more RAM than 640 TB. It will also have the start menu replaced with an elf hand print icon, which in no parts is a copy of the GNOME foot. It will go nicely with their brand new AQUAL (don't say AQUA Apple may sue) GUI.

  5. You're missing something dail-up. on A New Look at Linux vs. Windows TCO · · Score: -1, Offtopic

Another thing that people still forget about is that some people still can not afford high speed and need to rely on dial-up for Internet Services. This is where its actually(the only time) cheaper to own Windows. You thank WinModem vendors for selling them dirt cheap at $10.00 a piece with an OEM copy of Windows XP Home for $50.00. While Linux is free people on Dial-up still have to pay $80 to $100 for Controller Based Modems since WinModem drivers simply do not exist or function correctly for most WinModems. Or they can buy a brand new (but still slow)Linspire computer for $200.00 with a modem included. The sad part is for those buying Linux as a bargain OS its not really a bargain if they rely on dial-up. Hopefully the cost of DSL will dramatically decrease over the next few years or atleast better WinModem drivers for Linux will appear. Also I know thye eat up CPU cycles, but for crying out load who in there right mind is still using something slower than a Pentium 133 MHz for their main computer. I mean the CPU is less than $10.00 on Ebay now. We also need to be vigalant and protest hardware vendors that create similar devices in the future that only work under Windows or will cost more than 5 times as much to work under Linux. Like wise we need to petition dial-up ISPs to allow people to connect to them without using proprietary software. 'cough' AOL 'cough' This bloadware is not needed to connect to the internet and some companies like AT&T don't care if you use their software or not. They also don't care what OS you are using it with.

You forget on major aspect. Micro$oft and other members of the BSA cartel have long ago bought out the Senate. As long as the BSA lobbies(BRIBES) the Senate they will continue to have power. They need to make stronger laws against cartels and ACTUALLY ENFORCE THEM. Funny how when the gas companies were owned by mostly Arabic companies the US wanted to come down on them as hard as possible, but now with gas prices at an all time high with Hitenburg(Cheny's former company[which he may still have influence on]) incharge no one has any problems. Or should I say no one that makes over $200,000 a year. That's the main problem with our country we claim democracy, but its only for the wealthy. Why else is there BS like the DMCA that the Entertainment and software cartels are making a stink about. P.S. Cartel: A group of companies that come together and set prices on certain goods, normally very high. This is suppose to be illegal, but none of the rich previledged companies have been prosecuted yet.

Then I will be the master and you will be no more. Afterwards I will buy the senate and have them force my software to every government facility known to man. I will also send ultra buggy beta versions to Iraq which will destory everything with pure explosions from poor code. Then the US will love me, Britian will knight me, and then, and then. I agree with you whole hardedly on this topic. Just as long as your server is not running a bunch of bloat in the services department the CPU does not have to be that fast, nor will it need as much RAM. I am actually running Tomcat, with Apache, PHP, and MySQL on a Linux Box with half the specs of someone with a brand new Windoze XB(extra bloat) machine running just Tomcat(and a gazillion M$ services). Here's the irony my Linux Box is hooked up to the Internet as a server and provides fast loading times for pages, forums, and even photos, while my friend's Windoze Tomcat machine huffs, puffs, and can barely make one JSP page come up. I am also critized for using a cable modem to host my site, but you know what if it works and does not cost an extra $50 a month why worry. As for the HDTV $#!+ our senators have been bought by the MPAA to prevent people from recording onto television. The same thing M$ has done to the government and corporate America to force them to buy Commercial software(Way too much bull$#!+ to explain). However, what's to stop me from buying an HDTV card for my PC and then recording it to DVD, once its on my hard drive. More or less its CSS for television, meaning everyone should get $100 back from Sony, Sharp, JVC, Samsung, etc. for the VCRs they bought which are now illegal, thanks to Mr. steal 2 billion dollars from the school system with E-Cert, Uncle Tom Micheal Powell.

I know there are a bunch of problems within the city, especially with the crime rate. However there are areas downtown and in other parts of the city which are improvements and acheivements. Some examples would include the DAP/CEP program to get children intersted in science and math. There is also Compuware who have hosted annual high school computer programming contests. So to say that Detroit is all bad is false and it p!$$3$ me off.
