I enjoy watching AAPL plunge. I will enjoy it more if they plunge to $20 and go out of business. In such a case their headquarters should be demolished, razed, and then the earth salted where it once stood.
The hatred the average Slashdot neckbeard has for Microsoft is approximately 1/10th the hatred I have of Apple.
4X the resolution.. odd. That's odd, you'd think with 4X the resolution I'd be able to stuff 4X the number of icons or play games with 4X the independent number of controllable pixels? I wonder why I can't do that...
Oh, I remember. The "retina display" actually only uses pixel doubling to stuff those 4X pixels, it's real effective resolution is half the number of pixels it has.
He didn't skirt cleartype - he mentioned it as one component, they use other techniques to manage effective resolution.
Let's face it, the "retina display" is a sham on the iPad, just a way to make Apple users think they have something cool. On Android it wouldn't be a sham because you'd have 1:1 pixel resolution, but that would break all the iPad apps.
So you call "bullshit"...when you have no real facts to deny anything he said? You'd have to wait and compare both displays in a variety of situations to have an informed opinion, so you have what I guess would be called the opposite of an informed opinion.
Ahh yes, they've apparently worked wonders at convincing you that the (lol) "retina display" is the end-all, be-all of having a tablet, second only to the cool bitten apple logo on the back.
Agreed. And the low threshold for acceptable eventual consistency and lack of important of the data (overall) makes it less complex that it would otherwise seem.
Wall Street's types of issues make Facebook look like "Hello World."
Two electrons entangled in a true quantum state would be a perfect communication device...any change to the state of one would instantly change the other in the same way regardless of distance
That's mumbo jumbo and simply untrue. Both have a state, peeking at one just tells you what the other is it doesn't change any state.
Quantum "instant" communication is impossible and will therefore never happen.
At this early stage it is difficult to see the development as good. It isn't particularly good for JavaScript developers who already have alternatives, and it isn't good for C# developers who now have confirmation that Ander Hejlsberg is looking elsewhere for his future.
It's meaningless, though. Suppose someone said "I'm going to shoot so and so if they so and so." Police then go to his house. If they find no guns they shouldn't arrest him and if they do find guns they should? That's a...novel legal idea.
You're still not grasping the issue. See Apple started the major hostilities and the banning. Google is supposed to be nice and only respond by trying to ban one Apple product? What in the world are you smoking?
When a competitor tries to end your business, you try to end theirs.
Shrug. It's an excellent OS, and I like how you cherry pick some dubious random issues but ignore the _glut_ of issues in Linux or OSX. And I am a fan but I'm a professional enterprise software developer so I actually use Windows/Linux for a living and don't just poke around looking for cherry-picked issues to whine about.
Way to try to squash scientific dissent and peer review, fuckwad. "If they don't agree with an early release of a single study, they must work for the industry!".
Shh, you're bursting the bubbles of the angry ARM fans. ARM everywhere!!!eleven!
You are full of rubbish. Good luck virtualizing servers on your shitty little ARM processors, rocket surgeon.
If you want to serve up 10,000,000,000 "Hello World" applications, ARM servers are great, I'll give you that...

You know, it's a sure sign of an asshole when someone says "retina display" with a straight face.
lolwut? If they're silly enough to fall for this you could just sit there and swipe your existing card over and over...
Quick, someone call the EU, a business is trying to provide a valuable service such that you keep paying them on an ongoing basis for that service!
Call the EU and Shut. Down. Everything.

Goes to show you even the CIA and Bezos can be scammed by snake oil salesmen.

2008 called, it wants its state of the art SSD information back... SSDs are plenty reliable.

Lol, how cute. You're trying to create FUD.

Totally, that iPhone 5 is _totally_ innovative, lol. It's not at all an iPhone 4S+!

Then it can be its own VOIP server as well. Hawt.

When I don't like science I blindly lash out at the peer review process too!
Fucking dolt.
OMG the huge manatee!!eleven11!!!twelve!!
Ooh, goody an unpasteurized milk kook!
Lol... Right, buddy. Riiiight.

Ahh, yes. The Ancient Enemy. Sol, taker of life and destroyer of worlds. We must defeat him.
