The next generation of professional coders will most likely be good commenters as well. I know from experience in my computer science classes, professors will mark programming assignments down significantly if comments are not included, or if they are hard to read. Most of the time they want all functions to be commented to explain what their parameters mean, how the function works, and the format of the output.
the problem I have with business operating in an immoral or at best ammoral manner - profit at all costs above the greater good
Who says that a company is being immoral by producing a violent video game? Many adults want to play violent games, or games with mature themes in them. Its not like companies are marketing their mature rated games to little kids. The big M is on the box for a reason.
In the minds of the lawmakers "video game" automatically means "kid stuff" which is not true/ Just like there are mature movies, there are mature video games made for adults. I don't see the difference between the latest Grand Theft Auto and the latest Tarantino bloodbath movie. Neither of which should be viewed by children.
No,not every consumer. Just the ones who choose to buy the Linspire machines at roughly $100 less than the the same machine with windows pre-installed. Consumers who dont want to bother with pirated copies just buy the more expensive machine.
As an ex-Micro Center employee, people don't buy the computers that have Linspire on them becasue they have linux on them. Basically these computers sit around, and they eventually go on clearance for a couple hundred dollars. Then people buy them up cheaply and put their pirated copy of windows xp on them. Nearly every single person I've talked to who bought one never had any intention of learning linux, and most didn't even knwo what linux was.
As a side note, I personally would only shop at micro center for things like cables and such. Their hardware prices are way too high, and even though they claim to have a knowledgeable sales staff, they really just hire people off the street. No extra skills or certs necessary. They also treat their employees like crap, except if you bring in thousands of dollars a day in sales...
The thing that already differentiates itself in my opinion is this:
Nearly every movie on my blockbuster queue shows either "short wait" or "very long wait." This is never the case for new releases, but if it has been out a year or more its like blockbuster gets rid of all their stock.
My buddy has netflix and never has this problem, no matter how old the movie. Needless to say, I think netflix has better service and will be gaining a new subscriber shortly...
