    Sure it would. Most of the floating dust would be carried out with the air, and the rest would have no air to float around in. (Which isn't to say that you couldn't still get dust in the drive, but the danger isn't as high.)

    it would if you could achive vacum but i don't thing your design would be strong enough to do that. and even if the box was solid and well sealed i don't think you'd get gloves that would handle atnospheric persure on the outside and vacum on the inside without resorting to hard materials and complex mechanical joints.

    umm a cleanroom is not a vacum your system would either break or just give you slightly lower pressure inside nothing usefull!

    a cleanbox with a vacum cleaner and an intake filter might work though.

    i think the article submitter was misinformed. iirc it is widely belive to be virtually impossible (read not feasible without a good cleanroom) to do it to modern drives.

    i'm guessing from the submission that the submitter did not realise this was NOT a modern drive.

    from what i have heared they are horribly unreliable devices at the best of times and require the cars electrics to be in tip top condition to be usable too.

    polititians wan't votes and forcing shit like that on everyone would be a good way to lose them and probablly wouldn't bring all that much lobby money in so i very much doubt they would.

    to a s(p|c)ammer domains are essentially disposable. if you put the same domain in all your s(p|c)ams then you risk being detected by filters etc.

    some don't even seem to bother with the domains they just host on ips but i guess having a name makes them appear slightly more legitimate.

    1: before you start google for your new name if you get any results pick another one.

    2: get at least com org and net domains and if your site has a local bias get domains in whatever locally relavent tlds you deem nessacery. Don't bother with info biz etc people are unlikly to go to those by mistake.

    how hard is it to admit foreign language prior art in a court particularlly if the language in question is some rare indic language?

    one advantage i could see in translating sooner rather than later is that if the patent was filed after the translation was done then the translation itself would be prior art in some cases rather than merely being a translation of prior art. I'd imagine that could speed things up somewhat.

    Is Linux going to start doing the same thing as windows? Are the major distros worried about being sued?
    major distros don't tend to distribute this dvd decoding software for exactly this reason it tends to be obtained from user run repositries.

    hmm i'd think a typical shoulder belt would be pretty terrible at stopping sideways movement in one direction and possiblke quite destructive in the even of big sideways movement in the other

    well you could go for a network set up to stop desktops talking to each other and the servers don't nessacerally have to run windows (though if they do you and they can be reached by a lot of users you probablly need to keep a very close eye on them).

    ideally you might also wan't to stop outbound from servers to desktops as well although that may be unfeasible.

    X11 is network transparent so as long as you can build the lib on your target you should be able to use it with the X server on another machine

    i'd like to clarify that as far cheaper than any other method thats availible anywhere and at any time. local car boot sales/house clearance auctions etc can be even cheaper if you can find them.

    i can't see it being feasible to mould your own lego, building the moulds well isn't going to be cheap (lego relies on VERY tight tollerances to fit together well) and anyway there are commercial clones out there (though i don't think any compete with technic).

    if you just wan't boxes of mixed lego to play with then your best bet is probablly to buy it by the kilo on ebay. you will get some crap so expect a level of shrinkage caused by removal of broken lego and non lego items from lego bought this way. but it seems to be far far cheaper than any other method.

    Also, your question is neglecting the fact that if this method were implemented, the traffic on that Chicago freeway would be traveling at 55mph and setting your cruise control at 90 would be foolish. You would suddenly be a very fast moving fish in a slow moving stream.

    that assumes they force this on everyone at once which seems unlikly, generally new mandatory safety and environmental features are generally only forced on new cars.

    depends on who decides (or is forced to) cooperate, but i'd imagine an isp could do it at thier borders easilly enough and it might be easier than trying to chase down every dns server on thier network.

    or the government could even mandate it at the borders where traffic left the country though this seems unlikely.

    oh and i'm pretty sure there is no such thing as a zillion ;)

    the shareholders don't get any compensation but they don't get any liability either.

    whereas if you do buisness without a limited liability company you stand to lose everything except perhaps your house (depending on the local laws).

    the reason corporations have become amoral and dangerous entities is because there is sufficant abstraction between the primary investor (usually through some kind of fund) and the company being invested in that they don't feel resposible for things the company does.
