I work for a small ISP (100 subscribers currently). We recently had a customer plug in a DCHP server to our service. The DCHP server interferred with our router and ker-bang! A nasty lesson for my bosses.
Over the last couple of years a number of small companies have started to offer fixed wireless solutions to consumers outside of the service areas of cable and dsl. They are quite reliable and with speeds around 1Mbit/sec. This companies tend to be quite localized so you will have to do your own research to find out if there is a company in your area.
Only a small fraction of autistic children are able to lead productive lives.
Productive is a relative term. I agree 100% that its insensitive to say that its worth the pain of raising an autistic child. But its a proverbial slippery slope to judge the value of a life based on the productivity of a person. There are many fully able bodied individuals who are completely unproductive in econonomic, social, whatever sense.
Legs are easier. When you are making a small robot it is much easier to just put a stick on the end of an actuator. Current robotic worms or snakes generally have a flexible skin with complex motors to flex the body in order to replicate worm movement. Designing a robotic worm the size of a pill would be difficult and likely unreliable given the amount of parts neccessary.
These results should be taken with a grain of salt. 14 people is not enough to reach a solid conclusion. This experiment is little more than an half an episode of Mythbusters and until further study is done we cannot assume that Kudzu is really as effective as we have been led to believe by CNN.
Law 1: You can't win but you can lose less than you did before. Also, you can use someone else's work to get the odds closer (i.e. the Sun).
Law 2: You can't break even but you can get pretty close.
Law 3: You can't get out of the game but the game is pretty fun so you don't want to anyway.
I fail to see the link between astronauts landing in Kazakhstan and a gun battle in Falluja. Would it be funny if there was a tornado in Regina while SpaceShipOne landed in Nevada?

I've always been impressed with the actors who have the one frame parts. Its quite something how much can be conveyed in 1/30th of a second.
