Those aren't all Ivy League, but they are all certainly Tier 1 schools. Maybe the OA should draw his comparisons from Tier 1 schools.
This topic is a little late for me, but I went to a state university and would be interested to see how my curriculum stacked up against a Tier 1 curriculum. Granted, I have been out of school for close to 10 years now so I am sure it is different regardless.
Is a plug-in vehicle really cleaner than a gasoline vehicle in the long run? What about the extra draw on the power grid? What about coal burning power stations?
Are plug-in vehicles a short-sighted solution? Are we just shifting the power control from the oil companies to the power companies?
Well damn then, I guess it was a cruel joke. In light of my snarky comment, I invite you to come to my house and watch it on my big screen. When you leave, you may take George W. back with you.
WTF are you talking about, did you click the link?
Time Zone Notes:
Doctor Horrible is set to launch Act 1 at 12:01am EST - that means that the time zones in other parts of the world are: US/Eastern Mon 14th 10:01 PM US/Central Tue 15th 12:01 AM US/Pacific Tue 15th 2:01 AM Europe/London Tue 15th 6:01 AM Europe/Paris Tue 15th 7:01 AM Australia/Perth Tue 15th 1:01 PM Australia/Sydney Tue 15th 3:01 PM New Zealand Tue 15th 5:01 PM
Is he quoting worldwide timezones as a cruel joke? I believe what you are referencing is the note in the FAQ which most likely pertains to the DVD release.
When you are bleeding money like this, you have to do something. That's also why the NAB (which is just a lobbyist front for big media to maintain their monopoly) is trying so desperately to block the XM / Sirius merger.
"This has nothing to do with EA... they had zero input in this... They don't even know about it. It's not a discussion we would have with them."
Now I know it's total bullshit. That's a discussion you better damn well have with your publisher. If I were your publisher and you chose not have that conversation with me and I found out about it through some interview on a website, you'd start losing funding and Mark Jacobs would be looking for a new job.
I have been to all of those cities and of those listed from best to worst (not necessarily air quality, just my overall impression of cleanliness), IMHO: Tokyo Paris London Beijing (I didn't get out much while I was here) NYC (I don't think my impression of NYC would have been as bad if there wasn't a sanitation worker strike when I was there last, it was nothing short of disgusting)
Singapore is still tops, you can eat off of the sidewalks there. Sydney is also a very nice city which is seemingly very clean.
I lived just outside of Manila in Quezon City for a couple of years and every night, the inside of my nose would be coated in black pollution. Forget about wearing white clothes. They turn gray when you mix the horrendous amount of pollution with the large amount of sweating you will be doing in the heat.
Are you honestly going to sit there and try and tell me that 30 minutes less sleep a night is more detrimental to your health than living a sedentary lifestyle? Seriously? Are you a fat cow too? Well, keep sleeping then dude.
Anyway, to DuckDodgers, my kids are 16 mo., 3 years and 6 years. I have a 1 hour total commute, crazy work schedule like anyone in the tech industry, a high-maintenance wife, and I'm a Boy Scout leader....so yeah, my life is pretty busy as well.
You know what they say, excuses are like assholes...
That's a load of crap. I've got all the responsibilities you listed, even the 3 kids, and I manage to keep my self in shape.
Start waking up a half an hour earlier. 30 minutes a day and you'll be well on your way to living healthier. You'll be less tired when you are in better shape as well.
I would be embarrassed to post as myself too there urbanriot. It's native to the engine. What don't you understand about that? Do you know how game engines work?
You do know games use physics right? So in your mind it makes perfect sense to rewrite/license additional/not use the physics code that is native to the engine? Man, you truly are dense.
Maybe in your mind it makes sense to pay the outrageous licensing fees for the Unreal 3 engine, and then pay additional licensing fees for the Havok physics engine.
Do you know anything about computers/software/etc. or do you just post on slashdot to make yourself look cool with your nerd friends?
At first I thought you were playing coy, but now I just think you are retarded. UE3 is the engine. PhysX support is native to the engine. Any game developed around that engine, will inherently support PhysX.
That's not true at all. It works in a single card configuration as well. Modern GPUs have more than enough spare parallel processing power to chug away at some physics operations. Guys are already modifying the beta drivers to test it out on their Geforce 8 cards. The OP in this thread is using a single card configuration: http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=689718
You may not like him, you may not like the company or the software, but you can't argue with the results. He obviously had some sort of business acumen, and there were a measure of people who thought the software was good.
Plus, what manufacturer or developer is actually going to say, "well our [product] is shit, but there isn't much else out there so..."

Google can dig up all kinds of wonderful information.
Honestly, I feel like a real dick for my comment. Can I slingbox it for you guys?

Well then maybe try downloading from iTunes by using that HUGE button right beneath the streaming video.

How do you figure? I personally wouldn't listen to shitty streaming radio over CD-quality satellite radio.

Let's look at the rest of that quote:

You move fast, I prefer the knuckle deep approach when just starting out.
This thing is supposed to be pretty idiot-proof and can be found for $30-$50.

5'11", 235 is pretty fat (unless you look like this guy, which I doubt if you are only pressing 235) no matter how much you are bench pressing there internet tough guy. I'd put you at a 38" waist or higher and your BMI is over 30, so yeah...I would say you are fat.

Reading comprehension...anything built on the Unreal 3 engine.
Like one of these many licensees:
http://www.unrealtechnology.com/news.php
Native PhysX Support:
http://www.theinquirer.net/en/inquirer/news/2007/05/30/unreal-3-thinks-threading
I don't need to Google. Anything built on the Unreal 3 engine has PhysX support built in.

...how much gamers used to shit all over PhysX cards? Now, they can't wait to get their hands all over it.

I mean seriously...what a total self-serving asshole.
