  1. Re:Maybe its your interviewing skills on The Stigma of a Tech Support Background · · Score: 5, Informative

I was going to say the same thing. You suck at interviewing. I look at a lot of resumes and interview a lot of candidates - I am one of the technical gateways to getting hired.

I look at most resumes for an average of a minute. I am mostly looking for past experience to ask you about and to quiz you on skills you say you have. If I pass on you it's because you sucked in the interview, not because of anything that was on your resume.

Here are some things to ask yourself:
    - Am I dressed and groomed appropriately?
    - How is my hygiene?
    - Am I well spoken and can I communicate clearly and effectively?
    - Have I thought about real answers to the typical questions and not just canned responses (i.e. strengths, weaknesses, greatest accomplishment, long-term goals, examples of working in a team, etc.)? You need to have well thought-out responses to these questions that apply to you.
    - During tech interviews, can I provide real world examples or am I spitting out algorithms and examples from text books?

    Practice your interviewing skills.

  2. A better description on SDK Shoot Out, Android Vs. IPhone · · Score: 1

Fatal Exception's Neil McAllister wrote up a shitty article and submitted it to /. to get more ad revenue. Whereas his bias against the iPhone will cloud any kind of real comparison, his love for Google, Java, and the Android will ensure he has his lips firmly planted on Brin and Page's collective ass. And because writing a real article would require time and thought, you can expect that I will just spew a bunch of FUD and speculate on what MIGHT come out for the Android. 'By just about any measure, I am talking out of my ass,' McAllister writes, noting his severe distaste for anything Apple. His Google love is, of course, essential to Android's prospects. 'Based on raw market share alone, the iPhone seems likely to remain the smartphone developer's platform of choice - especially when ISVs can translate that market share into application sales,' McAllister writes. 'Sound familiar? In this race, I am going to pander to the /. crowd by comparing Apple to MSFT and let Google massage my prostate with the Android.'

Turn off AdBlocker Plus when you go that article. It has a full page click-thru ad, and 4 or 5 other ads jumping out all over the page. It's a worthless article with no real comparisons. It was basically written to cash in on the Android announcement and the flurry of comparisons to the iPhone that are already being made.

If you want to read what EA's explanation of SecuROM is from their support page, you can do so here. It includes information on how to remove SecuROM from your computer. Strangely, they make no mention of whether the removal process will disable the game.

All that being said, I don't imagine this lawsuit will make it very far. However, the policy that you can't return the software after it's been opened seems pretty criminal to me. The EULA should be included on the OUTSIDE of the box or a link to the EULA on the web that you can read before you open the software.

God opened a vision for them and at first they were excited at all the tasty bi-peds walking around and all the lush vegetation provided by global warming.

Then as the vision continued, they saw something they thought no living being should ever have to endure. They saw that Carlos Mencia was going to be famous and that people would eventually experience his comedy in one form or another. The dinosaurs decided that they would never subject their heritage to such atrocities.

They begged and pleaded for God to take their lives. God replied, "I love you and that is not my way." The dinosaurs were persistent and they begged and pleaded some more. God finally agreed, saying, "Since I love you, I will take your lives, but you must endure horrible plagues, famine, and natural disasters." For the dinosaurs, it was worth it and they agreed.
