  1. What about the cost to produce the drug? on Promising New Drug May Cure Malaria · · Score: 1

This look great and all but...how much will it cost?

We can already cure Malaria but the best antibiotic cost a fortune and is the reason Africa still have the disease.

Of course, curing every form of Malaria with a single dose is good, but to be viable for Africa and other poor country, the real question is...how much does it cost?

Actually, you can be a slightly better programmer with higher math. Kinda like you’ll be slightly better with a gym class instead (better health is beneficial for any job).

The question here is, wouldn’t it be better for a programmer to have a class in high-level programming instead of high-level math?

And it sadden me greatly. You seem to have done your homework about the "potential paying customer" you have lost with TPB (At ~10k$ software, I really doubt there's many), but what about potential paying customers you'll lose by pissing off customer with DRM?

Anything that is close to online DRM will result in lost of client, and all offline DRM is easily crackable. By asking the question, you already gave the answer : There's no magic DRM that'll do everything. Trust me, if it existed, you'll be already using it.

The real mistake you did was spying on TPB. The same way celebrity avoid Star magazine, developer should avoid looking on demonoid or TPB because the only thing they'll achieve is pissing you off. Stop wasting time on this and concentrate on making your software better and save your money for advertisement.

  6. Interesting question on Did Anonymous Take Down CIA.gov? · · Score: 2

It's an interesting question really. In the last years, the media have been pretty fast to put the blame of multiple take down on Anonymous. Of course, some of them were planned openly by them on website like 4chan, but let's not forget that the "victims" have other enemies too.

For instance, how much thought did the Chinese (the 21th century bad guy) put about cyber-attacking the CIA "after" they heard about Anonymous plan? I'm no expert, but don't you think there's a great opportunity for them to take advantage of the situation?

Oh that's so sweet of you. Oh and FYI, +20 000 kids die each day due to war, famine, disease etc. (source wikipedia).

I am going to be honest, I don't care if 15 astronauts died in that disaster (the stoppage in space exploration in the other hand isn't, but that's another debate). You can all argue with me as much as you want, those astronaut live doesn't worth more in my eye as human being than the millions that die around the world each week. Sometime, I found it deeply immoral that we put so much value in people only because we see them in the news.

At last, they (probably) had great lives and died without suffering

I haven't really seen Windows 8 yet, but, this could potentially be a really awesome direction. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping Microsoft let's this happen.

May I introduce you to the ASUS slate - EP121 my good sir? I'm currently posting with one of those.

Pretty awesome tablet with Win8 (if you don't mind 3.5 hour batteries, no access to the phone network, no GPS and low-end graphic card). There is also some annoying bug with Win8 Dev but those should be resolved soon. I recommend the video "ASUS EP121 Eee Slate Windows 7 Tablet PC - Part One - iPad Comparisons" on youtube if you're interested.

Therefore, I have decided to withdraw my support for the Protect IP Act. Furthermore, I encourage Senator Reid to abandon his plan to rush the bill to the floor. Instead, we should take more time to address the concerns raised by all sides, and come up with new legislation that addresses Internet piracy while protecting free and open access to the Internet.

I also agree with Steve from HardOCP, he would have been more credible if he have done this before today

Well, the way I read your comment, it feel like you proved that natural forest doesn't work.

The CO2 in the air doesn't only come from deforestation. Basically, is we want to drop the CO2 to the middle-age level, not only we have to reforest everything we cut in the last century, but we'll have to plant even more tree to compensate for all the oil and other crap we burned in the last decades.

While planting tree is still the most efficient way that we have right now, the "only" way to actually fix the CO2 in the atmosphere is to work on innovative idea like this one. Whenever the tree-lover like it or not, our salvation lie in the development of new technologies (or at last, that's what I honestly believe).

Yep, nintendo asked a big amonth of your profit only for that purpose........... 2)Have the damn cartridge to put your game in? Not like these DVDs everyone make for the cheaper price............ Back in that time, Nintendo wasn't only the biggest game maker, it was also the one the received ton of money from other compagnies....wich isn't the case right now. That'll explain the ton of profit back then.......... Also (talking about game), just one little detail that not many seen to have noticed. Did you ever noticed how much game Sony and Microsoft make? Sure, microsoft "bough" Halo and rare (Sony.....erm....no comment), but we can't forget the ton of game nintendo is making right now.
