The problem is, the simpler the application, the less it benefits from parallelization. So long as serial applications don't take a serious performance hit this is a good idea.

WHY, pray tell, does there have to be a conflict? And, by the way, evolution of simple organisms is observable and repeatable.

This is exactly what I thought. In theory it allows science teachers to teach science freely but, of course, it will be used by many science teachers to proselytize schoolchildren. I'm glad when I was in school evolution was taught as science and not preached. ID deserves nothing past a mention in a SCIENCE classroom, not because it is harmful or silly, just because it is not SCIENCE. Secondly, as a practicing Baptist in Georgia, I have been able to reconcile my faith with evolution (and the Big Bang for that matter.) I honestly hate how some people (a loud minority in my experience) feel the need to invent conflict.

Best feature of this mouse appears to be the cord. I love all the razer mice I've used but with friends we've lost at least 3 to frayed cords. There's probably another issue there but honestly that detail really pleases me. As for the mouse as a whole ... I'll have to try it to pass judgment, until then it looks absolutely ridiculous.

Yes, actually, it does. When dealing with religion in terms of how ridiculous they are, it is impossible and illogical to be entirely objective in your analysis, and it just so happens that, at least by the standards of a great majority of people, scientology is far more outlandish than Abrahamic religions for many reasons.

As a hardcore Mowwowind and ES nerd in general, I have to say I was sorely dissapointed by Oblivion. The level scaling made it so that, no matter how hard you worked, there was always something more powerful, and yet at level one you can beat the arena and kill most everything you encounter. Also, I hated that when a player would encounter bandits at higher levels, thay would be wearing full sets of daedric or mithril armor. Morrowind made it so that, while it was hard at lower levels and took time to progress, eventually you could become absolutely badass. Unfortunately, this is generally not possible in Oblivion.

They, in my opinion, are hoarding posessions and money on Earth in hopes that they will remain wealthy and powerful in the afterlife. If this deal is not struck down Verisign's wealth will ensure that they have significant control over the afterlife. Ladies and Gentlemen (mostly gentlemen, seeing as this is /. , if they truly can be called gentle is an irrelevant matter at this moment of crisis) this is a call to action to strike down the evil, manipulating corporate dollar. If you think the strikebreakers and robber barons of the turn of the century were bad, imagine what could happen if you vote Republican this fall. Your very afterlife could be in danger.

My home state of Georgia does this, however limited. For Georgia resident students attending an instate public college, tuition is funded 100% by the state lottery (A brilliant optional tax, you choose to be conned out of your money!) so long as they had a 3.0+ GPA in high school and maintain a 3.0 in college. I think that if this was extended to include all accredited colleges and universitites nationwide it would be the best solution to the problems of tuition for students.
