Primarily because system/network security takes longer to train someone in than half a dozen "warrior" MOSs put together. Take it from a guy who's done both.
More importantly, if you left autorun enabled for usb drives on machines you're responsible for, you're a fucking moron who deserves a good firing for gross incompetence.
Seriously, who wants to have to put clothes on every time some random family member, friend, or business associate feels the need to intrude on your time?
The difference is Microsoft would push it out as a critical security update. Canonical is making you A) hear about it in the first place and B) make a conscious effort to download and install it.
We're not talking Microsoft here. It isn't being pushed to you as an important security update. It's currently a completely optional package that you have to specifically choose to install, if you've even heard about it.
Ask me to design my ideal car and it'll have a lightweight but strong aluminium body, a simple, efficient diesel engine, comfortable seats and a decent stereo. Everything else is chaff, I don't even need ABS.
I'd rather have airbags than a decent stereo.
However, before even thinking about airbags, I'd really enjoy to have lights, windshield, mirrors,...
Brakes are nice too. unless you're planning to go slow enough to brake with your foot.
Yes. Of course there's also a correlation between non- and anti-religious natures and political partisanship. All of which have an equal correlation of 100% with those who are self-deceptive.
Anyone who doesn't practice enough self-deception will eventually either take their own life or become a right evil cunt.
This is why every politician in history was elected rather than shot, stabbed, hung, drawn and quartered, and then set on fire. Singling any particular one out marks you as one of the foolish masses who're going to believe what they want and truth be damned.
We would have gone out and dug up our own information. And our beliefs wouldn't be based on incorrect information in the first place.
Be nice to think so but it's been my experience that people, including supposedly intelligent people, will just go find misinformation that suits what they want to believe and truth be damned. I offer the entirety of slashdot comments as evidence.
Seriously, who the hell takes gambling (which is what investing in stocks is) and decides it should be a sure thing and they should never be able to lose money?
I never demonized liberals. I don't particularly think they're any bigger fools than the far right. I simply think that you're so far off in left field that you have no idea what you're talking about.
Wow. That's so amazingly wrong it deserves an award of some kind. By what measurement do you say people like Barbara Boxer are anything even approaching moderate?
Oh, I get you. You must not be using the mean opinion of the U.S. population as the line for moderate opinion. You must be using world opinion.
Wait though, aren't there far more right wing authoritarian nations out there, by U.S. standards, than there are left wing socialist-ish nations? I think you must mean your cherry picked group of nations from Europe. Or possibly just Berkeley.
No, this won't detect anything any faster than before. As has been stated above, the metadata will just be removed (probably automatically) as part of the ripping process. Transcoding would destroy it entirely, so it would have only worked on bit for bit rips of the original stream anyway.
It's simply another astoundingly stupid and completely ineffective idea for the media companies to waste their money on.
It's an excellent idea that makes huge whopping loads of sense; therefore, it will never even be authored as a bill, much less considered on the floor of any legislative body.
If it were a USB key, I'd say you had a point. But since it's a stick of ram that I've been stuffing in my pocket and handling without taking any anti-static precautions whatsoever, it just really doesn't matter what size it used to be.
Same place any self respecting nerd/geek/etc... would. I dug it out of my mountain of massively outdated hardware that I should have thrown out but haven't yet.
Mine hang outside my pocket, held there by the 16MB (fuck off, MiB fascists) stick of ram attached to the key chain and shoved in my front pocket. The ram grabs surprisingly well onto the inside of the pocket against anything but a straight upwards pull, then it slides out quite easily.

Windows Millennium retail boxes were clearly marked and announced.
Shit, sorry, my bad.
And the repository for those who've heard of it and are feeling helpful.

Wheels are a nice feature too.
Nah, they're just a fad.
You can tell the difference by how zombies occasionally will visibly be in possession of a brain while using their mouth.

Problem is "those sorts of people" = "damned near everyone, and probably you too".

Wah, wah, the world doesn't cater specifically to me!
Simplified your argument for you. Life isn't even fair and you're bitching that it's not slanted in your favor? Grow the hell up, whiner.

No, they just do that to annoy non-scene types.

Bah! People need to stop complaining...
Hi, welcome to slashdot.
