It's time to admit that government makes everyone worse off than we would otherwise be. And before anyone says "but wait, they built the roads!", yes, I believe roads could be provided voluntarily without taxation. along with every other important function they do.
extremely poor choice in words. if my kids ever end up going to public school, I could see paying them for each A. I'm hoping they don't want to go to public school though...
the dell mini 5 looks really promising, so I'll be taking a serious look when that comes out. I would also love to see some larger ones as well. iPad is cool but their ecosystem is just too distasteful.
Google is just like the all the other companies in the US. If they don't comply with the government, their business will become very difficult.
Why do people think this is Google's fault? We should be blaming the government for having the power and authority to force companies in the first place.
the general public has absolutely no basis from which to really understand what they're seeing
sure we do. we see the military killing innocent people. and when this happens, our leaders do their best to cover it up and not let their media lapdogs talk about it. what else is there to it? innocent people die needlessly in EVERY war.
actually, capitalism and democracy are diametrically opposed. capitalism is utterly impossible when you have democratic governments taking over industries left and right, as has been the case over the past 300 years.
I would also say that we need to put environmentalism on hold to prevent an environmental catastrophe. because if this guy's policies were actually put in place, it would wreak havoc on the world.
some of us realize that individuals effectively have no say in democracy. like the parent said, at least we can decide not to purchase the telco's service. and even their crappy service is due to government monopolization in the first place.
Yes, I can and I will. Obama has clearly embraced the neoCon war agenda and is enthusiastically escalasting afghanistan. There is nothing about peace and Obama that would warrant such a prize.
for our second kid who is due soon, we have a midwife at a birth center that's about a half hour away from our house. the hospital was simply not a very pleasant experience. our first doctor elected to give my wife surgery to cut the placenta because it wasn't coming out fast enough. turns out the doctor was in a hurry because she had to catch a plane for vacation.
here's an idea. the people who actually use the services will pay for them. yeah, novel I know. after all, that's how cable tv works.
haha, yeah man, without the government we would all be dead! or at very least we would all be injured on the job! thank god for bureaucrats!

I started using a host file with chrome and haven't looked back. honestly it works almost as well, and catches most everything.
thanks for posting, I was gonna do that if no one else did. I support this view and think we would all be better off by abolishing copyright monopoly.
The sooner dead tree newspapers die the better. Google can't put them out of their misery fast enough.

yep, very fitting story for one of today's Mises.org articles dealing with that very subject: "Contra Watermelons"
some of us realize that individuals effectively have no say in democracy. like the parent said, at least we can decide not to purchase the telco's service. and even their crappy service is due to government monopolization in the first place.
the sad thing is that the taxpayers put up with it. and many even defend it.
thanks for the helpful suggestion!
here in ohio.
You seem to be invoking the myth of the natural monopoly.

Everything except portability and storage...
do you really think everyone else wouldn't want to surf the web while listening to Pandora?
as if they ever understand what they are doing either way? what a laugh.

more importantly: at least the internet is not accelerating or conducting multiple wars while accepting the prize.

yet another reason not to have the rest of my children in a hospital. one was enough... no more.
