Well, in my opinion (take what that is worth) once monarchy started getting too much resistance, the rich got together and decided to create a government that was almost as easy to game, yet still gave the people an illusion their voice was important. Even if it meant sometimes letting a few commoners get into their club, that was a compromise the wealthy were willing to accept. So as long as the right representatives get elected, things like censorship happen and it is just accepted it as the "will of the people"
That's what you get with democracy. People vote for things you don't agree with. If you don't like it, too bad. You still have to give them your tax money anyway.
I'll bet there are a lot of people in the US who don't even believe it. Just think about how many times they changed the story in the first 3 days after they got him. Then they don't even keep the body around long enough for anyone else to verify it. They just go dump it in the sea? Seriously? They are all pathological liars in my book.
Sorry, grown ups with real world experience realize that government is a sad joke . If you support government, you are the corporate whore, because politicians are the ones who back corporate power using YOUR tax dollars. Always have been. For cripe sake just open up a damn newspaper, read some real history, and wake the F up. Such a pity that so many well meaning people don't realize the simple truth. You are bringing this country down hard.
Well, let's see. the FCC is owned by the telecom industry. the FDA is owned by the large food companies. does anyone really think regulation ever benefits the people? or just the big industry players? it sounds good, but in practice, government regulation is there to protect and entrench big business. there is nothing in it for the people, never will be.
This is exactly what happened to us. The person before us had cable, but when we moved in this house we only purchased internet service. Most of the basic cable channels still come through pretty well, and we also get the pass-through HD channels which are great for Browns games every Sunday. I use the money I would have spent on a cable subscription to buy a Tivo Premiere, Netflix, and Hulu+. My dad has worked in the cable industry for decades and said they often just leave the basic cable on if you are already getting internet service.
Like so many others, I mostly use Netflix and Hulu+. Also Mog for streaming music. I do torrent something occasionally but not that often. But it just so happens that when I moved into my current house and got internet service, they left the cable service on even though I didn't order it. So we basically get standard cable with pass-through local HD channels for free. My dad works in the cable industry and he said this often happens - that the cable companies will just leave it on if you are getting internet service through them.
For a small or medium size business, it could very well take massive amounts of effort and cost to keep your servers going full time. For many people it probably makes sense to outsource that function to dedicated engineers, rather than having to hire and manage your own.
Even with this, Amazon still probably has more uptime than somebody managing their own servers, especially the larger you get. It's pretty short sighted to simply dismiss them out of hand because of one incident.
The only reason for the fraud in the first place is because of the government's other laws. In other words, they would have been fine if it was legal for credit card companies and banks to do business with the sites. Don't try to excuse the government's actions here by claiming they "broke the law".

Because everyone knows the FBI/CIA/NSA operate "anonymous" Tor nodes.
Self absorbed brat? Lolokol that is all I really needed to hear from you. You have a lot to learn, buddy.

Wow, your response has the intelligence of... ...a teenager living in their parents basement.
I don't feel very bad for you though.
we can only hope they actually follow through with this promise. we'll see.

Typical, pinning the blame on anti-regulation. When various governments are actually what is protecting these gas companies from lawsuit damages.
Once in a while, a glimmer of sanity appears in our court system. Then it goes away, not to be seen again for years and years.
I'll bet every president since WW1 has caused more death than Bin Laden.
It originated in europe before FDR, back in the 19th century.
And the libertarians hijacked that name from the old school socialists.

I have an ARM based tablet running Android 2.3. Why would I want to use Android on x86? Is it really that much faster?
DAT might not have been a failure in the professional audio space. but it was in the consumer space.
If a format isn't adopted by others, then yes that is what I could consider to be a failure.
They made so many consumer devices with memory sticks for so long, and they were pretty much the only ones who did. Why would anyone buy that?
Betamax
Digital Audio Tape
Minidisc
ATRAC
MemoryStick
Universal Media Disc
Sure, they might have had some success in the past. But there are just too many bombs mixed in there.
Sony has a long track record of format failure. I avoid them like the plague.

These government assholes can go fsck themselves. America is screwed. Free country my ass.
They would have simply just killed Manning instead of torturing him indefinitely alone in a small cage 24/7. I guess China is more humane after all!
